Unique Toy Shop — Local services in City of Canandaigua

Went there for the first time and the last. If my grandchild didnt want the toy i would have left without buying a darn thing.

1st. Why an employee can follow someone around like they are doing something wrong ia crazy.

2 . When i cashed out i explained my issue with the casher and asked where to leave a review. The other employee came up and said if you have something to say come say it to my face. Beyond belief i said back i have my grandchild with me this isnt the time or the place.

Concerned about covid is an excuse they gave me . If that is the case why is the store open its a toy store all the toys are being touched by children . Please..

This is a toy store where children are do you think this is ok because i do not.

I tried to avoid the situation and if i was there alone i would have had alot more to say..but i refuse to say anything around my grandchild or other children. Dont shop there.. Stay clear..

Read response back from store. There are plushies or stuffed animals throught different sections of the store. Please stop with the excuses. You dont know if myself or grandchild is vaccinated. We will not be back and have talked to others. Might not be typical well other reviews show different others complain about be followed... Looks like it hasnt stopped. RATHER SPEND MY MONEY ANYWHERE ELSE...

I'm really appauld at the lack of customer service this evening at the store, and the subpar toys that I purchased.

The spaghetti toy is coming apart mere 15 mins after purchase. The one ballerina doll's yarn bangs were sticking straight out, and not laying flat like they should.

Now, onto the lack of customer service, one employee offered a 10% discount......great, except the one with seniority said, no....there is nothing wrong with this and if you want it you WILL pay full price period. I should have walked out right then, but instead I decided to over look that and give the store my $85 for my entire purchase. I even asked again, after doing what was suggested by the nice employee of putting a hair tie around this dolls head to tame the bangs down ..... which did not work mind you.... about if there was anything they could do just to save me some money. Again, no...."try wetting them, And i mean she is going to be playing with it obviously so it's not really that big of a deal!" When they said, "see you again" after completing the purchase, I responded.... no, no you won't!...

I've lived here a while & every time I drove by this toy shop, I'd tell myself I'd have to remember to check it out sometime, but life kept happening & sometime never came. Almost 2 years passed, but when I had family visiting, they wanted to check it out, so we did! This toy store has EVERYTHING!!!! My Mom saw toys from her childhood, I saw toys from my childhood & they had everything in between & more! They had any & every kind of stuffed animal you could imagine (even a stuffed Standard Poodle!), board games galore, TONS of fun little trinkets perfect for birthday party goodie bags & speaking of birthdays, if you live anywhere even REMOTELY close to this store, you should go here for ALL your kids' friend's birthday gifts! I sincerely hope anyone who reads this will check this store out, even if only to take a stroll through & see what they have! If you do, I know at the very least you'll be entertained with' "I remember this!" & "So & so used to LOVE that!" & I can pretty much promise the next time you need a gift for something, you'll go back & find the...
