I love Grill 125, if it's the name of the restaurant at the Radisson Hotel.
The food is phenomenal and if you go on Thursday, Friday (or Saturday sometimes) from 6 - 8 pm, they usually have live music.
And it is a classy crowd with an (age range of about late 30s - 70. Average age is in the 40s.
But it is a very friendly place. I have met so many interesting, well traveled "worldly" and open-minded people there.
It is so comfortable and welcoming that I would go by myself and feel comfortable.
One thing that I saw the first time I went there was so cool. The band (Doc Possum) invited a gentleman up on stage to sing vocals.
He was about 70 to 75 years old. So, When the Crowds saw him walk up to the microphone, none of us knew what to expect.
I did speak to him before he sang and he reminded me of a poet, someone you would see in the West Village which was the best place to perform in New York City)
When he started to sing, he was no amateur. He had the most powerful voice and everyone was mesmerized.
I just love it there. And even though the food's a little pricier, it is well worth it. I would go with a friend and we would order an appetizer and split it.
People were very open to meeting new people and they didn't act t isn't clicky, which I love. That's why I loved living in the city because you were anonymous and you didn't have to deal with the clickiness.
I enjoy dressing up a little bit but honestly I could go there pretty cash and feel like I'm fitting right in.
The bar "room" has a huge bar that reminds me of the more attractive older bars. Just stunning.
The bar itself is large, with a lot of seats and I got to say it's one of the nicest looking bar areas that I've ever seen.
Whether you sit in the leather chairs that surround the sunken area, which has more seating or you're at the bar, you can hear the music.
I loved it especially because you could be yourself and people would respect that. Maybe because they're older.
But, I was blessed because one of the only ways to (to even get an interview), someone else (o call the the business promoting you for the job. These jobs are filled before they are ever even posted. a place like a record label is ou have someone who knows you that can speak on your behalf at the label. lot of bands and gone to a lot of bars within a 60 mile radius and I'm pretty picky when it comes to music. Because I got to work with one of the best bands, Pearl Jam and also rage against the machine.
When I went, my friend and I had an amazing table that was on the same level as the band.
Pretty much anywhere you sit, you have a good view of the band. And, they were not too loud.
So, you can either dance to the live music or if you sit a little further back in the room or in the bar area, you can hear the music but you CAN actually talk over it, without straining your voice.
I was impressed with the fact that they actually had a dance floor and the band (Doc Possum) performs a lot, within a 60 mile radius.
I'm not a huge fan of Elvis, but the singer covers Elvis better than anyone else I've heard
I am not bragging, but I was so blessed to make my childhood dream come true, i.e. working for a record company with a band who was just starting out Pearl Jam who I watched and helped promote them within one year hose songs really spoke to me and who I would love...
Read moreI have lived here since 2006 and have been to the Radisson for many big events but have never come here to eat so I figured I should finally go!
The place They located inside the Radisson hotel they have a bar in the main lobby of the hotel with a seperate dining area adjacent to the lobby. They have curtains that separate it from the lobby which is kinda weird. Although it is very well kept and cleaned.
The staff
They staff was great our waitress was very friendly and helpful. She always made sure our glasses were full and even made conversation with us. In fact one lady in my party asked about a red wine and she admitted she wasn't sure. She proceeded to grab one of the other waitresses who was more familiar with them to help her. I love that! I wonder how many people just say something when they have no idea what they are taking about! Kudos!
The food
I ordered the Bacon wrapped Pork tenderloin with mashed potatoes. It was amazing I wish I could remember the sauce it came in!! It was very tender and cooked to perfection! Not to mention I love when a place puts a different spin on a dish. One of the downsides to living in a small area you will have trouble finding a lot of places that serve dishes outside the norm hence when I saw bacon wrapped they had me!
For dessert we asked the waitress what she recommended she said we are known for our pecan ice cream balls. SO ordered that and my wife had the keylime pie. Basically it was a ball of ice cream with pecans all over it drizzled in fudge. It was ok but nothing special.
The verdict
I am a fan my food was above average and something I can't get anywhere else that I know of. My only complaint was the dessert. I also tried a bite of a few other ones and I wasn't impressed. For what you pay go elsewhere they aren't worth it. I really cant wait to try more items on the menu. I encourage to give this...
Read moreWe were staying at the hotel so decided we would get breakfast here since it would be simplest. Without question it was the worst breakfast I’ve ever had. I asked for eggs over medium and when they came, The whites were runny. Also, it came with pancakes and they were undercooked. I ended up having to go into the kitchen to get our waiter because I didn’t see him for about 10 minutes to get the eggs redone. The only thing I did was open the door to the area and asked him to step out so that I could talk to him. He proceeded to tell me that I wasn’t allowed to be in the kitchen. I explained to him that I didn’t step into the kitchen and that I waited long enough to have my eggs replaced. He proceeded to tell me again in a derogatory manner that I shouldn’t have been back in the kitchen at all. At that point when he came out, I got the eggs replaced, and I hadn’t touched the ham that had came with the breakfast yet. When he brought the new eggs back out, my ham didn’t come with it, and I had to ask him for the ham. The eggs that did come out were cooked real hard on one side and barely cooked on the other again. At the end of it all he asked my wife and I if the bill was going to be on the same check or not. That’s not that big a deal, but it still seemed out of place for both of us. Lastly the waiter obviously didn’t shower from the night before cause he smelled of body odor. He did end up taking 20% off the bill, but even then there’s no way it could compensate for how bad the meal was. I wish that I could say I was making all this up, but it’s the truth. The worst meal ever do not eat here...
