Vitrix Hot Glass Studio — Attraction in City of Corning

Beautiful hot glass studio with interesting pieces of art that are made there. We purchased a paper weight and a free form artistic bowl that we will treasure. The hot shop employees were at lunch but it was clear that at other times of the day visitors would be able to see them creating their art work. The gallery space was clean and bright. Stepping into Vitrix Hot Glass Studio is like stepping into a Glass Studio of the past. I visited at Christmas and the shop was filled with small snowmen of every shape. They even had a few that looked like Burl Ives from Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer. Behind the shop are the glass furnaces used to create Vitix's products. Love the studio! I remember a visit here when I was a little girl, and it's still fantastic. Everyone was friendly and I'm pretty sure the glass blowers came back in from a quick break just so my kids could see them working. Even if they were coming back anyways, they were friendly even through the viewing glass which meant a lot to us. There's something for everyone and someday when my kids are older, I will return to begin a collection at Vitrix. Definitely...
