The place is very nice looking and has a comfortable modern vibe to it. However, the employees I encountered made me everything other than comfortable. I have very poor vision when I'm somewhere where florescent light bulbs are used as well as some LED lights. It's actually a dramatic difference and it also causes migraines. I was struggling to read the menu inside but I did my best (ordering the stuff I already knew I wanted) and then asking if the cashier could tell me what a #8 is as well as the #3 (just examples). Because I honestly couldn't tell if I would be ordering fish or chicken and I really didn't want to order fish in accident and have to bring it back for the right stuff causing me to waste food and your store to lose money. Not to mention that returned orders (wrong items) aren't given away to employees, a homeless person or even a pack of seagulls with the exception that (the person/s who ingest it can not hold you liable for any damages or injuries. That they themselves are liable if it causes sickness etc). It goes straight into the garbage. In case you can't tell, I'm not one for throwing away life sustaining essential needs. Most may not notice it but their are MANY children and families that are as close to us. Like a neighbor next to us or across the street or apartment downstairs. All the way to across the world where people are literally starving to death and dying from no good water to drink from. (CHANGE YOUR DUMB POLICY) Let someone eat the food if they want it! Moving forward, I say this because when I asked the employee if they could tell me what 2 different items were, they took a deep breath and exhaled loudly (annoyed) and read them off rudely. I just smiled and said thank you because I have trouble seeing and the employee rudely spoke lightly under their breath and clearly said "you sure its your site? Or that you can't read?" I even then smiled and said "thanks again"! They smiled and said "no problem. I'll get your order right out to you." Which came quickly and without any issue.
So that was my one and only experience with that store as I don't live in or near corning and won't expose myself to that type of negative energy from any human like that no matter where they are. Unfortunately I'll never forget that experience and I Will never take that chance either.
Not only that but the entrance and exit to that mcdonald's are so confusing and kind of dangerous especially if you don't know the area.
Food was very good and it was one of the nicest looking mcdonald's I've ever been inside...
Read moreI have eaten here a few times - always with some negative issue. Today, it cannot be overlooked. The burger, requested with no sauce, not only had sauce but looked like it had been shredded or dropped and torn. The fries, as usual, came semi-filled. When you order a large fries, what you really get is a large fry container with about a medium amount of fries. It's a wonder no one has thought to do a class action suit as McDonalds surely benefits financially from this discrepancy of amount. Much like others have been sued for putting only 62 ounces of catsup in a 64 ounce bottle.
In any case, I normally enjoy McDonalds and I hope some improvements can be achieved.
9-16-2023 - Today I ordered a sausage and egg biscuit and asked them to hold the egg. I also told them no cheese because even though it doesn't come with cheese they continuously put cheese on it in past visits. So I open my bag and get my food out - they gave me a biscuit with egg. That's it. I could almost forgive putting the egg on as an accident because that's usually how it's made, but taking the sausage away all together is just lazy, poor quality, and bad service.
7-28-2024 - Tonight the young woman who was doing the order taking could not get an order right to save her life. It took many repetitions to complete ordering. Then, as we pulled up to the first window where a blue-haired woman offered us our food, we noticed that our two large fries were delivered as a large fry and a small fry. I waited for her to come back to the window and I told her what had happened. She insisted I pay extra for a large fry even though the receipt clearly showed that is what I had bought. I told her I already paid for a large fry and she was very insistent that I pay the difference. I also pointed out that we bought combo meals which means that if you ordered a large drink, it's automatic you get a large fry. The large drinks were also noted on our receipt. She was rude and insistent that we pay more. Basically, McDonald's condones blatant theft and overcharging.
8-23-2025 - First off, the oatmeal is supposed to come with cranberries, raisins, and apples. Apples. While I was at the drive-thru window, one girl specifically told the other to put apples and cranberry packets in with the oatmeal. I arrive to find only cranberries. But that's not bad enough because if you look at the picture, it is a thick, oatmeal paste smeared at the bottom with barely any water and a portion definitely not...
Read moreI just don't get it!!! I don't go to places like this on a regular basis. I go only because I need a quick, inexpensive bite to eat because the job took longer than expected. However, it seems that the McDs in Ithaca, Corning, Horseheads, Mall and Elmira areas are some of THEE SORRIEST I have ever been to!!! It seems that there is more supposed 'customer service' at the drive in than those coming in to make an order. The kiosk ordering process appears to be flawed due to not finding certain available items such as the $1 McChicken sandwich. When asked at the register, the employee appeared dumbfounded!!! At one drive thru, they were 8 cars deep waiting in line. Employees were carrying out food orders for at least 2 cars that were moved ahead to accommodate more to order. This while customers wait inside. I did for 15 minutes before I left! One employee even acknowledged me and said they would be with me ASAP!!! That was after I was there for about 5 minutes and no one else in line ahead of me. I gave them another 10+ minutes before I finally left!!! Then there is the drink areas at every place mentioned!!! Nonstocked, out of both tea types, 'used' napkins and straw papers laying about, drain grate missing numerous pieces causing drink cup to not be properly supported and just lots of spillage that needed to be cleaned up on a more regular basis or as needed!!! Then there appears to be a loitering issue of sorts. Now I realize they offer free refills on drinks and especially coffee. Most of the older crowd meets/greets in the AM and sometimes during the day. But there seems to be a lot of either homeless or unemployed or single moms thinking it is a daycare that hang out inside. I even observed and heard one such mother tell another how to obtain a free soda. Just tell the register person you want a cup of water. Fill it with Sprite or 7 Up instead! Repeat as needed and pass the cup to others when they leave. Given these issues, I am very disappointed and will be weighing a decision to continue patronizing any McDs in the areas previously mentioned. I would highly recommend corporate get involved in these local franchises to determine if they are following established corporate policies. It seems they are giving the whole company a...
