Stopped in for a late night meal while walking around the strip in Corning. Staff was friendly and the atmosphere was inviting.
We both had a plate of Chicken Pad Thai with a shared appetizer of crab Rangoon. While everything was acceptable nothing really wowd. The Rangoon lacked significant filling to be more than a fleeting experience and (perhaps it was the limited filling) was fairly bland.
The Pad Tai was served as a rather large portion and was very beautifully presented. The flavors again were more bland and tasted of lesser quality ingredients, we had asked for their hottest level spice for one plate and a slightly lower level for the second. The heat was acceptable but as a lover of extreme heat, I will say the level 5 was a bit underwhelming. BUT! To be fair, my "hot" is not the average acceptable hot, I have become a bit numb/accustomed/immune/adjusted [whatever you want to call it]to spice over the years so I don't blame them for that.
While we were left a tad underwhelmed, that isn't to say the overall experience wasn't enjoyed. The meal was still worth our stop and if in the area we would certainly go again and try some other items off the menu.
If you find yourself in the area and want some Thai, I'd still say check them out, at the least, you'll love the large tvs showcasing a beautiful saltwater aquarium, a touch I really appreciated as a saltwater aquarium...
Read moreI was gonna leave this alone, but I had to be reminded of how bad this experience was. I went here with my girlfriend for the 4th time this year. We ordered two entrees with one and two peppers respectively on a 5 pepper scale. My girlfriend asked for the one pepper and expressed that she doesn’t like spice. Her food was very spicy. It was pretty spicy for me and I enjoy genuinely hot food. We told our waitress it’s too hot for one pepper and she just said there’s nothing she can do other than bring more rice to tone down the heat. Ultimately, after not being satisfied with the offer of rice she spoke to the manager and they said that they could take 50% of the entree off the order if we get another order. Since I like hot food, I just conceded and took her food for the half off price and bought her the dish with 0 spice. She ate a little and we boxed it up. We got home and nestled in the rice was a long grey and black hair. Obviously my girlfriend refused to eat the rest so I wasted even more money than I should have had to. It’s not worth losing customers to refuse remaking someone’s food it’s a joke. Wild Ginger is much better, it’s a shame we...
Read moreThe waiters were very rude. We were two families. My friend's family is pure vegetarian and some of their dishes have oyster sauce so with every order we were being cautious and asking if it had any fish sauce in it. They made faces and were very rude when answering. Whenever I go to a Thai place, I always order drunken noodles. This place had terrible drunken noodles. There were hardly any noodles. We also ordered soup. It tasted like chilly water topped with lots of vegetables. When we asked for salt they again made faces. Terrible food and customer service. I always leave a tip even if the food is terrible but I didn't leave a tip here and also told them that we didn't leave a tip because of horrible customer service. Instead of being apologetic, they again responded with a...
