Queen Subs — Restaurant in City of Cortland

With the sad closing of King Subs in Cortland now many years ago, Cortland has lacked a leader for sub lovers . The king is dead sadly so long live the queen.! Queen subs is a takeout only place on port Watson st. The staff are fun and accommodating to make the sub just the way you want it . The bread is soft and though it isn’t baked on the premises , tastes fresh. Queen subs has a good selection of toppings, and has added more recently. The tuna was light on the mayo but they add some at your request . The subs have the good shredded lettuce , the sub juice, and the subs are packed generously for you. Takeout only sub shop. Sandwiches are good. A bit expensive but they're large enough where you can easily get two meals out of them. Certainly some of the better sandwiches in town.

My one gripe is about their menu; I wish they'd flesh it out a little bit more. Right now they list out all of the meats and cheeses on offer, and that's all the customer sees, but will also offer things like a "mixed Italian", which is capicola, pepperoni, salami and provolone with your choice of veggies. I only know this because I happened to order those ingredients on a sandwich and they called back "one mixed Italian."

Wanted a sub really bad so we tried this new place, as it's gotten good reviews. I ordered a roast beef with cheese, simple right, however I must have gotten someone else's sub because it had stuff I didn't order nor wanted. Will try again to insure this was just a bad day.
