Barb's Soup's On Cafe — Restaurant in City of Elmira

Wow! I wish there was a Barb's Soups On local to me - I'd be there all the time! Came for lunch and had an amazing server (I wish I asked her name!! She said she's been there 15 years). She was awesome, so kind, and so good to talk with! She told us about the soup flight that is not on the menu - it needs to be! It was 3 cups of different soups - all for almost the price of a bowl! I got new England clam chowder, Navy bean with ham, and hot pepper cheese. All were exquisite. I even got two quarts (navy beans w ban and hot pepper cheese) to bring home with me!! It's awesome to me that, you could order a cup of each soup and the special soup(s) for just about $15!!! I only wish I had thought of that sooner. I'm excited for my next trip into town to try the others and get some more...

A few things:

1. I order here almost every week (or every time i'm in Elmira) because it's delicious, a perfect lunch, and very reasonably priced. I always get their hummus wrap with fries- and I'm literally never disappointed.
2. I happened to place an order today online and when I showed up they were closed. That's fine- I figured I'd call in the am and figure it out. But no- the owner went out of her way on a Saturday to call me and explain what had happened and that she would refund me in the morning and give me a free lunch (which was COMPLETELY unnecessary as I would gladly continue spending my money here!!)

And THAT is a great, local business taking care of it's customers. This is how you make repeat customers. Good food, great service. I'll 100% continue to order...

I keep trying, but I think I'm officially done. The restaurant itself is cute, especially for a light lunch. My food is never good here. I ordered the hot pepper cheese.. it was not hot at all temperature wise, and there was no spice. It seemed like leftover New England clam with cheese mixed in. There were literally chunks of meat in a cheese soup..gross. I ordered an egg salad on sourdough, which was on thick stale white bread, and the onion rings for the table were over fried and inedible. My friend liked his turkey club so I didn't do one star. Idk.. that's the third time I've been disappointed at Barb's.. I think they are overpriced and need...
