Had a couple of friends visiting from out of town and we decided to pick up some Thai food. Everything was delicious, fresh, and well made. The food was ready well before the estimated pickup time the restaurant gave us. Everything was hot, they got the spice preferences perfect, and nothing was missing from our order. An excellent experience.

I live in the area and this will be my go-to for Thai food!

The only disappointment was that Siam Elephants does advertise as having "vegan selections," but the only vegan "dish" they have is a house salad, which was extremely frustrating, because both my friends are vegan/vegetarian, and one is a strict vegan who has to watch what he eats because of medical concerns.

We were really looking forward to being able to order something that would suffice for everyone, but that wasn't possible. A house salad is vegan, yes, but it's not a meal. It's not even a side dish or an appetizer. It's a salad. If a restaurant advertises "vegan options," then there should be at least a couple of entrees, a couple of appetizers, and a couple of sides that vegans can actually make a meal out of. A salad does NOT cut it, and to be honest, that's false advertising.

That's the reason I gave four stars instead of five. If you advertise as having vegan options, then have vegan options. A house salad is not a meal. I feel very strongly about this as there are extremely limited vegan/vegetarian options available in Elmira, and when one advertises that they have those options, those options should be available. A house salad does not count.

I will order again for sure - the pad Thai with mock duck is fantastic and the coconut rice sublime - but that vegan thing really needs to...

Getting to the location is not bad with available parking in the front. Mostly you can park behind the building. Depending on the time and day it might be full. That's quite normal on a Friday evening.

As you enter the front you notice the beautiful architecture especially above the ceiling. The lighting was warm and cultural infused. No music was played or the TV's were playing images. I believe it was a soft opening and they were still iron out some issues.

We were greeted warmly by the hostess and asked us how many people will be dining in. We then were redirected to take our temperature and hand sanitizer. As we follow our hostess we approached the booth in a wooden backing with a soft leathery seating. The table was a little high but you had to adapt by moving your body up to the table.

Once seated we had a plates, utensils, glass wine glasses and cold water with ice. The waitress gave us our menu and gave us time to review the menu. The menu was decent price with array of curry to seafood selections. Once we ordered it took awhile for the first appetizer to arrive but the waitress was apologetic. Then came our main course. It was delicious with mix of different species depending on the meal.

The whole experience was good! The waitress was amazing and very friendly. We will definitely come...

Delicious, fast, friendly, clean, and a departure from the ordinary - a good experience across the board when we went for sit-down service.

We went on Saturday for lunch, so not very crowded, so the staff was quite attentive. The owner (I presume she was) was quite friendly and welcoming with our little ones. From time of ordering to food coming out, it must've been less than 5 minutes - try getting that from a fast food drive-thru!

Food was delicious - between us all, we had noodles, fried rice, dessert and Thai soft drinks. The fried banana, which is essentially banana and coconut in a spring roll with a honey, was a favorite I wasn't expecting, and I look forward to trying the rest. The hand cut vegetable garnish added a charming touch to all dishes.

The parking situation was a little tricky, but no worse than any of the other downtown places. It might actually be worth it to give us an excuse to get out and breathe some life into the Elmira downtown scene.

More good to be said about Siam Elephants, but probably best if you just see for yourselves - we'll be going...

Beautiful restaurant that was desperately needed in downtown Elmira. Beautiful architecture inside, and tastefully decorated. We only waited a couple minutes to be seated, everyone had to take their temperature and sanitize their hands before seating. Lots of places to sit, there is a bar as well. The only reason I gave this review a 4 star is because of the comfortable-ness of the booths. They were very low to compared to the table which was very high, and there was a huge gap between the two. I felt like I needed a high chair or something to boost me up and be closer to the table. The service was slow, there seemed to only be two servers for the entire restaurant on a busy Friday night, and newly opened. They were apologetic for the wait for our food, and very very friendly. The food was really good, also had good portions. The prices were affordable. The menu was simple to read. Overall I would definitely eat here again, however I would go when it’s not as busy. I’m sure they are working out the kinks of opening a new restaurant and learning as they go.

Wonderful restaurant, desperately needed in Elmira. The hosts are great and the food is delicious, especially the drunken noodles. The spicy chicken salad is underrated; it’s so healthy and something different to try. Ground chicken with red onion and a spicy, sweet, citrusy, vinegary fish sauce. It was just missing crushed peanuts (the pad Thai and drunken noodle would be even better with peanuts too. Everything tastes very close to what I had in Thailand, just missing peanut.) The panang curry is super creamy and delicious. I asked for “somewhere between mild and medium” and it was just the right amount of spicy without being overpowering. We mentioned it was my cousin’s birthday dinner and they surprised us with disco lights that played across the ceiling with a song and they brought out flaming fried ice cream! It was awesome. Highly recommend.
