Light's Coffee Shop and Pizza — Restaurant in City of Elmira

Pre-pandemic, this was one of our favorite spots. The food was always good, the staff is very friendly, and prices are good. Earlier this week,, we ordered takeout for the 1st time since the pandemic began. The staff is still friendly and the prices are still good....BUT the food was disappointing. An order of scrambled eggs and toast contained eggs that had been cooked until they were browned and dry and toast that somehow was toasted around the edges (crust only) and was completely untoasted everywhere else. The "toast" did not just get soggy - it wasn't browned at all. The very worst part, though, was that our drinks had been placed into a drink tray, which an employee picked up from the back counter and placed on the customer counter before bringing them to the register. The drinks sat there for a few minutes within a foot or so of customers who were unmasked and chomping and chatting away. Of course they must remove their masks tob eat, but why ON EARTH, would you put other customers' food in the direct path of everything they aspirate? We had stopped in to buy a pie from the bakery a few weeks ago and the woman who waited on us had her mask below her nose. We were alarmed when a 2nd bakery employee in the back was also not wearing her mask over her nose while handling food..All of the employees in the restaurant(who were visible) during our recent visit were wearing masks properly. Unfortunately, we observed careless behavior that unnecessarily exposes customers to risk. We shouldn't have to worry that our food might be placed and left to sit directly in front of an unmasked diner just before being...

It’s so sad, I used to come here with my grandparents for breakfast when I was young. I will NEVER step foot into that place again🤢🤧 not only was I a customer but also an employee for THREE HOURS! Alls I can say is wow, they love to up prices every few weeks, the bakery items aren’t only nasty and I could get better at Walmart, but the quality goes down constantly! Every bakery item they make (Ramona in specific) they make it to their advantage! I used to order cupcakes and she made them more like muffins so she didn’t have to use as much icing. The owner (his name is guy) is the biggest piece of trash put on this planet, he’s had multiple complaints, he is the nastiest man alive, he fired me on my first day, worst experience I’ve encountered, they treated me like a child saying I was being insubordinate 😂I have severe mental illnesses, he and Ramona ruined my whole month and my progress in my mental state. I caught him cussing and abusing the hell out of the cooks and dishwashers, I truly should have pulled out a camera that day! If you want to support an abuser and nasty pastries,...

I could not believe how myself and my boyfriend were treated. We came in sat down was given a menu was told the waitress would be with us. She never came over to us she served others that came in after us. The other waitresses stood around doing nothing. Didn’t come over to us either. The one waitress began to clean tables around us still didn’t serve us. Mind you less than 10 people in there at the time. The waitress began to clean the windows still not serving us. The lady that seated us look over at us and still didn’t Instruct a waitress to come over to us. We watched other customers be served and acknowledge but not us. I began to feel uncomfortable and realizing we were not going to be served. Hmmm as a black woman with a white boy friend he and I knew what it was so we left. And won’t be back.
