Xi'an Kitchen — Restaurant in City of Industry

Was skeptical about trying this place due to the reviews but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the noodles. The best self-made combo is topping the biang biang noodles with their mapo tofu. The sauce on the mapo tofu is spicy and definitely spruces up the biang biang noodles to another delicious level! I wasn’t overly impressed with the Sesame pancake; it was really doughy and the two side pastes/toppings for it were strange: one was way too salty and the other had a strange taste to it. It’s located in a strip mall with other restaurants by the Home Depot on Gale Avenue in the City of Industry. Would return for the biang biang noodles...

Can’t speak much for their service or dine in experience as it was a takeout order, but the taste was just straight up not it. I don’t know if their chef had a bad day or if they were distracted, but the special hot oil noodle (油泼面) I ordered was just downright awful. Spent $15 for these noodles, and I ate maybe three bites before trashing it. All you could taste was spice and bitterness, as if the oil they used for their sauce was burnt and they just poured it over the noodles without regard. Very bad first impression, and highly unlikely to order...

Food is good, but service is really bad. They want me to pay cash 37.70 dollars for my order. I agreed to pay cash and then I said I can give 37 dollars even. And the waitress said if you don’t want to pay the rest of 70 cents, we can take your credit card. I mean this is really rude, I wasn’t saying that I don’t wanna pay 70 cents.
