Normally, I highly recommend Gimme Coffee but the State Street location has gone bad because of a rabid barista Brittany. I've been coming there for years, tipping highly andI spending between 10 and $15 a day. I have promoted them on my television show. The other day because of an Internet conflict with this woman who is been mean every since I had to block her on Facebook. this person finally reached the Tipping Point I sat down and computer even queued up she came running over and said I had to buy something I was going to use the internet. Later I took a walk around the block (I have a spinal injury sitting long periods of time needs a little exercise) she immediately approached me yelling and getting all red in the face that I could not leave my computer there yada yada yada and I told her that is no problem if it was stolen or something I wouldn't hold give me responsible Plus usually have two or three friends keeping an eye on it anyway. she insisted no I could never leave anything there alone if I was going to leave the store for even a moment I asked her why she was singling me out and ask to speak to the management Unfortunately they were in a meeting or something but this is just absurd I'm basically a local a 58 year-old middle-aged do continuously does numerous acts of charity I've never been spoken to in such a manner I can't believe that take some sort of Facebook conflict and attack me in public I'll wait to hear back from...
Read moreI’m a regular customer at Gimme Coffee and usually enjoy my drinks here. Today, however, I had a very disappointing experience.
I ordered two drinks as usual — one iced latte and one hot latte — and clearly told the cashier I wanted oat milk, which is what I always get. Unfortunately, they did not use oat milk today.
While I was standing near the counter, I saw the barista pour regular milk into the iced latte. Immediately, a lot of white curdled floaters appeared on top. I overheard the barista say to another staff member, “I don’t know why I poured this,” and then she proceeded to scoop out the floating curds with a spoon instead of remaking the drink. After that, she simply added ice and handed it to me.
When I drank it, I could still see and taste the spoiled milk particles. It didn’t feel right, so I searched online and confirmed that this is a common sign of expired milk.
This was disappointing, especially from a place I’ve supported often. I hope the team can take better care with ingredients and remake drinks properly when something is clearly wrong. Serving spoiled milk is...
Read moreI had a great pour over coffee served on a Kalita Wave and EK43 grinder. The experience at Gimme became awkward when my friends drink orders were screwed up. My friend ordered a cortado to go and the barista called it out as a gibraltar in a for-here cup. My friend, not being a coffee snob, had no idea what a gibraltar was. So she waited for her cortado as my other friend waited for his espresso. After 10+ minutes neither drink came out. The staff got our orders out to us correctly after we explained the situation. Like I said, my pour over was excellent and my wife's cappuccino was wonderful but the fact that only 2 out of our 4 drinks came out right, and the fact that my other friends felt excluded from the coffee community with the lingo leads me to give a 3...
