Milkstand Restaurant offers a delightful twist on modern American comfort food, with a focus on high-quality ingredients and bold flavors. Tucked away in a cozy spot in Ithaca, this casual yet stylish eatery brings a fun and relaxed vibe to the dining scene. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite or settling in for a leisurely meal, Milkstand makes you feel right at home.
The menu is inventive and full of surprises, with a variety of unique dishes that cater to a wide range of tastes. One of the highlights is their milkshake menu—yes, it’s a restaurant, but the shakes here are a standout! Rich, creamy, and packed with flavor, they’re the perfect treat to complement any meal. The classic vanilla milkshake is always a favorite, but if you’re feeling adventurous, their salted caramel and chocolate chip shake is a must-try.
The food options are equally impressive. The fried chicken sandwich is crispy and juicy, served with a tangy aioli that adds the perfect finishing touch. For a lighter option, the avocado toast is fresh and satisfying, topped with a zesty lemon dressing that brightens up every bite. There’s also a selection of delicious salads, with ingredients that are always fresh and well-seasoned.
The ambiance at Milkstand is warm and inviting, with cozy seating that makes it feel like a homey getaway in the middle of the city. The staff is friendly and efficient, and they genuinely care about making your experience memorable. Whether you’re there for a quick lunch, a hangout with friends, or a relaxed dinner, the atmosphere is always upbeat and enjoyable.

Read moreAn underwhelming experience. I was excited to try them, and the menu looks really good but falls really flat. The service was decent- we where there at 11am on a Saturday and there where full so some delays where expected but our server was pretty solid. There's a lot of interesting options and we had a hard time settling on what to order. I'd be interested in trying them again and seeing if some of the egg and waffle entrees are good, but what we got was really not worth the money. My partner and I got the jalapeno poppers, fried mushrooms, Milkstand breakfast set, and the brie french brioche. Both the appetizers where really good, the dill ranch was delicious and the breading was awesome and crispy and flavorful. However both of the entrees where disappointing verging on actively not good. The brie french brioche had almost no brie on it- 2 thin slices sandwiched between 4 slices of French toast. The menu said it would be smothered in berry sauce and there was a tiny garnish smear of the sauce across the plate. The French toast itself was ok- a little bland but otherwise fine. It just wasn't at all what was described on the menu, and not in my opinion worth $15. The worst offender though was the steak on the Milkstand breakfast set. It was not a steak at all but some kind meatloaf. There was more breading then steak and again, very bland. The gravy had a ton of lumps and almost no flavor. It was just flour, butter, milk, and siracha. The eggs where cooked perfectly over east and the hash browns were pretty good. The sourdough toast was stale, and the vegetable medley was undercooked and again, underseasoned. Extremely disappointing for an $18...
Read moreThis was a just about 3 hour lunch. First, food is excellent excellent! My friend ordered a salad with her quiche, which amounted to a good amount of only Arugula. I had delicious crepe florentine. Indeed wonderful food. The wait was about 30 minutes at the door, you must check in with reception who writes names down in order of arrival. I did notice other people who came after us with same number of people be seated first. So speak up! There will be a positive response! Waiting to be served is about 15 min at the table (remember it’s lunch and even on a Monday it’s packed) after ordering it’s about another 20 min to half hour until meal arrives, but it’s hot and excellent, yes! Upscale value! We decided to try their desert! Well, another 25 minutes later small cheese cake and lemon crepe with ice cream. Very well done topping off a delicious meal. Got an extra scoop of rather good vanilla ice cream on the plate for the wait. So, the wait: the waitress apologized for the wait and a bit of confusion, they brought main meal without silverware ( actually goldwear) and with all the wait I got up and helped myself to what we needed at the table. We did ask several times courteously if we were forgotten. So, the waitress at the end did apologize and said that they had 2 call outs in the kitchen hence the wait. Again, food is excellent, thank God the cook showed up today! This is a very busy place overtaken by Students that flock in in droves and thank God for names taken as students help themselves budging the line! Sad for Ithacans. I do hope we get more diners in Ithaca! They...
