Steel City Pub — Restaurant in City of Lackawanna

We stopped at Steel City 2 years ago after St. Patrick's Day parade and had a great time... we had the burgers back then and they were delicious the bar wasn"t too crazy busy we had a table that accommodated us all plus they have a front patio if you wanted to go outside.

We then kinda forgot about the place for a few months. We went back again a couple months ago for dinner and again the burger was delicious so same great food. Now we frequent this place probably 2-3 times per month all food is great they have daily food specials that are a great deal (Friday flatbreads rock) you are never Hungary after eating at Steel City, my husband absolutely loves the wings they are always crispy without asking and they have great sauce, a must try if in the area. They have happy hour with drink specials and then power hour after that, you can have a great time here without breaking the bank. It's a neighborhood bar as we have noticed everyone knows everyone. The bartender Laurie is great just wished she worked the late shift she's quick, efficient and friendly. We have since brought alot of our friends here and they were blown away by the great food, one friend owns a business around the corner and would love to order their lunches from here weekly but were told the specials aren't good on take out, which was disappointing to them because they really enjoyed the food and would probably order alot that's the only negative. Good place to stop for a pint and food. I have to say this is the best bar food out of any bar that I regularly visit. The hamburgers are almost as good as my absolute favorite places, which includeAllen Burger Venture, and that says a lot for it being a bar. We always get the chicken wings super extra crispy, and they will do that. I ask for crispy at a lot of places and they just don’t do it. You get the regular somewhat mushy wings. It can be loud at certain times. Once we even asked to have the music turned down and they did it. Another time I asked to watch the Yankees game and they put it on. I wish they would accommodate new faces. Apparently I sat next to a regular who was wasted out of his mind interrupted me constantly. Finally, I tried to ignore him. He stumbled into the bathroom in and out at one point couldn’t even open the door bartender had to help him then he sat next to my guest. I had to have my guest move so he didn’t fall asleep on her shoulder. He must really be a regular they called somebody in to come bring him home. I left a nice tip probably should not have because I think I walked in with a $20 gift certificate and I didn’t even see that on my bill so with that being said, I don’t think I will return.
