Extra Space Storage — Local services in City of Lackawanna

Since you guys are hounding me to leave a review here it is! Had our belongings in storage for a couple months they guy who signed me up asked me about how long I’d need it for I said hopefully 3 months. It turned out to be 5/6 months. After 3 months it went from less than 120 a month to just under 200. I guess I should have said 10 months to be safe. Called got it down to about 145 the following month back up to just under 170. That’s the first problem. Second problem is that I chose climate controlled to keep my stuff in good condition only for me to find that there has been rodents of some sort crawling up through holes In The floor chewing my furniture and leaving droppings everywhere. Told the office… they had me submit a claim…. They got back to me and said I had no insurance on my storage unit. So nothing was covered. Looked back at my invoice and it says on my first bill I had insurance. Called the office again to tell them this. They said the only way the insurance would have been removed was if I called and removed it. Well I didn’t. I said to Check the call recordings. She said she would reach out to higher ups and say there has been a screw up that was two weeks ago and I haven’t heard anything back.

In conclusion my advise is: bring your items elsewhere, tell them you plan on having it longer so they don’t raise the price, I guess call and make sure you have insurance every single month, and remember climate controlled units your items are still not safe here.

After writing a great review for West Seneca New York, I had to move my outdoor RV parking spot to Lackawanna New York. (My fault) I was asked to vacate before I even put my RV on the spot I paid for , and had a contract for. After receiving calls from a different location manager (Cheektowaga New York) who refused to provide his name , I called corporate and asked for a full refund. My money spends just as well at another company , without the Foolishness and people calling me and harassing without fully identifying themselves. Also , if they had a spot in Cheektowaga New York, why wouldn't the "Manager" who called me just transfer the spot to Cheektowaga? Instead , they referred me to Blasdell New York, who had no spot.

What a waste of my time. I will never ATTEMPT to do business again.

Employees were great, but mice got into my unit in the spring and chewed, peed, pooped and nested on EVERYTHING, making moving and unpacking Hell. Edit: for the owner, that's great you do pest control, but this spring it wasn't enough and they got into the unit and chewed books, tin foil, plastic, cardboard, and I don't even know what else. They made nests inside the boxes they chewed and anywhere else they could find, pooped and peed everywhere, I had to throw away a lot and am still dealing with the aftermath.
