Go try it! Gina Maria Trattoria is back where it belongs on Gramatan Ave and so is Chef Paul. We can expect those grand size meals once again from Paul who started out in the deli business as a young man. Paul has had success all over the county over the past 35 years, beginning with the great Valentino's, in Yonkers. Paul is fine man, husband, father and chef. He devoted his life to the success of all his businesses, family and health. You will always get a consistent meal here with a tradition of great southern Italian food. You will always go home with extras and never leave hungry. Hopefully, he still has time to make the unprecedented Tiramisu that he and his brother reciped together 30 years ago. Whether you eat at the bar or table, alone, coupled or with family, you will enjoy an absolutely sumptuous meal, as I have over the years with family and friends. Let us all wish Paul and Gina the very best during this second time around in Mt. Vernon. Paul's best pasta dish is Penne Melanzana. I can attest to that. Had an EXCELLENT dinner at Valentina's tonight. We started with tortellini in brodo and stracciatella soup. Both served nice and hot and the broth was perfectly seasoned. Our entrees were perfection! My husband ordered the veal parmigiana. The veal was tender in a tasty red sauce accompanied by a crispy potato croquette. I ordered chicken martini - chicken coated in Parmesan cheese in a dry vermouth and white wine sauce that was without a doubt the best chicken dish I've ordered at a restaurant! Tender chicken seasoned perfectly surrounded in the most delicious sauce accompanied by roasted potatoes and seasonal vegetables. We finished our amazing meal with an espresso martini, chocolate mousse cake made in house and tartufo. The service was impeccable despite being extremely busy on Valentine's Day. The owner stopped by our table more than once to check in. On a side note, I have celiac disease and all my courses were prepared gluten free. We will definitely be back to...
