Taco Ticos — Restaurant in City of Newburgh

This place was amazing years ago. What happened? The price has tripled and the quality and quantity got cut in half. I ordered a value meal for $6.99 and an additional 3 tacos for $2.99 each. The tacos had 1/2" of meat on the bottom and were bland. Its much different than the original recipe. I was dissatisfied with the meal but things got worse from there. I was rung up and the bill was nearly $20. When I asked about the price discrepancy I was ignored. It was quite awkward considering she was standing 3' away. I asked again and she didn't give me the value meal price. She would not honor the price even though it was laminated in a frame on the counter. First of all, this is not a Portuguese restaurant, it's a Puerto Rican restaurant, I love PR food, I'm not sure why this place is called Taco Tico cause I cannot see the correlation between tacos and this place, which is known for pernil. Anyways, we were craving some pernil, Puerto Ricans are know for their pernil, but to my disappointment this place didn't perform, or come close to it. How to describe my experience... There is nothing extraordinary about the building. I pulled up to it and noticed that it looked to be like it was once an old ice cream shop.

I'd heard rumors about the sanitary conditions of the restaurant but everyone that had told me virtually the same thing said that the food was worth it. I was ready to finally give Taco Tico's a shot.
