Dollar General — Local services in Town of Newburgh

Dollar general has never been the best store, in fact, my experience has been rather disappointing each and every time I go in to the store. Although, today has to be the highlight of my extreme disappointment. For a while I chose to go to other dollar generals in the area. Each and every time I went I was met with rude and disrespectful staff, loud and impatient costumers, and overall a store which did not honour sales nor did they honour the customers. So when I found this dollar general it felt like a dream, in the beginning the staff and the manager were kind and attentive but this atmosphere dissipated rather quickly. The store got increasingly messier as did the attitude of the staff. Out of everyone in this disaster of an establishment the worst had to be the manager. Today when I arrived at the store I was greeted by the manager standing outside of the store smoking a cigarette with a coworker completely not concerned by the lack of staff inside and costumers waiting to be seen. The manager only came to attention when I as a regular walked in. The place was a usual mess, buckets with non priced and non labeled merchandise stood out in front right by the entrance. The floors were dirty and overall the building is crowded by an overflowing mess. I came in and went exactly where I needed to be and grabbed my purchase. Said item was on sale for thirty five cents with a coupon. Anyway, I was happy to have found what I needed and made my way to the check out. I was immediately bombarded by the manager sharing how she would be leaving the store within a week, this is after she has complained to me multiple times saying how she despised her job and was ready to quit. She also told me personal details about her daughter while she was watching Snapchat videos rather than doing any real work. I was ready to get out of there, I put my phone number in to redeem my coupon and she scanned the item. She said nothing went through and I tried again. It was at this point I decided to point out to her that the sale was advertised in her flyer to which she responded she does not want to get fired and would not give me my item for the price it was listed as. I felt so disrespected, I had been to this location a number of times and had spent a substantial amount of money, all of which did not matter to this manager. She chose not to honour the sale which her store had put out to have a place at a job she hated. She was overall rude and accused me of being argumentative and said she genuinely did not care. Probably Racist, Definitely Rude - A friend of mine was driving up 17k past this store when she spilled a cup of coffee on her lap. She pulled into the parking lot to make an emergency pit stop and clean herself up - she put the mess into the dumpster in the parking lot - and a woman claiming to be the "owner and manager" of the store came running out and told her she was going to "call the cops on her and have her arrested" Now my friend HAPPENS TO BE BLACK, it shouldn't matter that she is also a great attorney and a kind & caring person - because hey, no one deserves to be arrested for throwing a way a coffee and some wet napkins - but she is. Came to the the store, because maps showed that they have Western Union. The lady said that she is a manager, and they doesn’t have this service. I understood and asked her that maybe she can delete the service from google maps so other people not going to waste their time like me coming. She answered to me it’s not my problem, it’s your and other people problem that you coming here and start being rude to me for no reason. I have tried showing to her google maps which is shows that they have the service, she said “get out from my store before I called the cops” The lady ruined reputation of the whole store in 1 minute , I hope you checking what you buying from this store , because this kind of managers don’t care...
