I am so relieved to find decent sushi in Central New York. The menu is salmon-heavy, which makes me quite happy. The prices are far more reasonable than most eateries, which is especially rare for sushi! You can sometimes even get uni here. The unagi was hot, tender, with that tiny bit of crisp. The salmon was generous. The crazy salmon roll is quite satisfying as well.

Hands down the best sushi in Central New York. All ingredients have been fresh and high quality every time. Everyone who works here is incredibly kind- they once even helped us jump our car!
Their rolls are delightful. The rice is seasoned perfectly. The fish is fresh and delicious. I especially recommend the salmon belly and the yellowtail! Sometimes they get in fresh uni, which is a delight. Try it on top of a sea scallop!
They are very flexible with substitutions or leaving out rice. Their plating is beautiful and masterful.
While I was there today, some guy came in, claiming he was given a roll with bad, old food in it. The staff apologized and offered to remake it for free. He refused. He demanded cash, and they asked for a receipt. Then he claimed someone else got it, so he didn't have a receipt, but wanted his money back right then and there.
It's a pretty common scam, honestly. I've NEVER had a single piece of bad food here. Not once. I think offering to replace it or to refund with a receipt is personally reasonable, so if this guy rolls up blasting them, take it with a huge rock of salt.
Anyway, Ocean Sushi of Oneida is honestly the only sushi place in want to go to in central New York. It is vastly superior to any other place...
Read moreBy far and away the best sushi in the region - lush, vibrant, fresh and full of flavor! The hot green tea is a Korean green tea with cooked brown rice, making it smooth, comforting and steady, while the sushi rolls are a generous serving size without an excessive girth that would weaken the subtleties of the flavors. It is obvious that this restaurant uses top quality ingredients, including an excellent and authentic wasabi and luscious pink spiced ginger. The atmosphere is actually that of a 50's diner, with a few relevant pictures added, which will shock you at first, but is overall very comforting, warm and opening, while the seating is similarly comfortable. This is a great place to go for the sushi, and also a great place to go...
Read moreThis place is amazing. It is small inside but they do takeout. Went to lunch with my daughter for father's day. The food was the best I have had anywhere around where I live. The sushi and California rolls were very tasty and almost melted away when I put it in my mouth. The appetizers were fantastic tasting too. Had crab rangoons, which were the best I have ever had. I also had Tokoyaki, which I learned were a popular street food with octopus...simply scrumptious. I would highly recommend this place if you like this type of food. They also do hibachi dishes too, so there's chicken and steak. The lady who took care of us was very polite and accommodating. I really can't say enough about this place...you...
