Best pizza in The City of Oneida. Have been a customer for years. Food is good, however, recently I noticed issues in service and customer care. Today, I had my pick up order messed up on me for the 3rd time this month. I typically call to place an order. I prefer to call when ordering as I get a quicker pick up time (20-25min) rather than ordering online results in a 40-45min pickup time, and I enjoy the human interaction instead of ordering online. The Pepi’s app to order online is outdated as it is formatted for older version iOS versions and when I have ordered online in the past, my pizza is cold as it doesn’t provide an accurate estimate on pickup times.
There have been a few times where the parking lot is full at dinner time and I had to park next door at AT&T and walk over. There is a drive thru, however I’ve waited in the drive thru line for over 15min a few times before and I’m not letting that happen to me again. I’ll use the drive thru if no one else is in line but prefer to walk in especially if it’s busier.
My suggestion to Pepi’s to improve efficiencies and to fulfill more demand would be to tear down the “old” Pepi’s building out back to allow for additional parking. Would be at an additional expense, however, it’ll pay for itself in less than a year from orders as demand for parties and pick up orders should increase as parking will become easier to accommodate the growth. You could even expand the kitchen to maximize supply capacity to fulfill demand for more orders. With having more orders, you can control your pricing better by not having to react to the fluctuation of the raw product price increases. Continuous improvement should be implemented to improve wait times and customer service. KPIs should be tracked and measured. Would be great if you were open for lunch to get slices. Also would be great if you implemented a rewards system to get coupons - this would “convince” customers to order online and get them to come back. The $1 off coupons on the pizza boxes aren’t the answer to stimulate customer loyalty and improve customer attrition rates. Look into benchmarking yourself to other high volume restaurants to improve. I would like to volunteer to assist you as a loyal customer with experience to help you with your capacities and efficiencies.
To sum my review up: Great pizza, prices are on the higher side but you get quality food and a good amount of it for the price. If possible, avoid the busy hours when ordering. Show up 10min before they tell you when your food will be ready. If you haven’t eaten here before then I suggest you order food from Pepi’s as it is the best place to eat in The City of...
Read moreWithout a doubt - this is the best pizza place I have EVER been to. (In the past I was employed here, as a summer job. I have washed dishes, prepped, cashier'd, and a floating worker wherever the need was.) Pepi's is 3rd generation family business that's been around since the 60's. They have not just lasted, they have thrived and expanded and updated their shop when business necessitated. Pepi's is a true 'homemade' restaurant. They make their own dough -from scratch- from the same recipe since they opened. They have a dedicated room with a giant bakery mixer and when ready they cut and store the dough in individual containers and stored in a cooler room. All of the toppings come from regularly delivered produce, cut+prepped by hand. I know this from first-hand experience, there's no exaggeration to say this pizza is handmade. As far as other dishes and sides, all pass through a few hands in the prep to cooking process. The chicken wings are the only exception to the "made in house" fare. (Alas, there is no chicken farm/processing facilities on premises...) But, they are sorted by a human and quality-controlled by this process. And then they are prepared by a dedicated wing cook, not just whomever is available. Their wing sauce is also curated and some made by hand, which sets the flavor apart from just a jug of Frank's. There are a nice variety of wing flavors available, and can be mixed and matched accordingly, so you really can get what you want, and cooked to preference.
-This is a very quick and simple review, but I hope gives the appropriate summary of the best pizza place you'll find.
Multiple generation, family owned, quality ingredients and handmade products.
This is the real deal. Pepi's is the place where the old phrase "they don't make them like they used to" -does NOT apply-. They have been following their tried and true equation for exceptional food since the 1960's... and that's because it's hard to improve perfection.
Don't take my word for it, I implore you to enjoy the pinnacle of pizza (and other menu options!) for yourself. You deserve...
Read moreThere are times u will have the best pizza of your life.... There are time u will have the worst pizza of your life... There are also times your wings will be raw. Despite being incredibly outdated (not a new game in 25 years) the kids still enjoy going here from time to time, but I am sure that will only last til they're in 1st or 2nd grade and the newness will quickly fade.. At which point the 1¢ toys from the 50¢ chicken machine will no longer suffice. I never seem to get over charging 50¢ on a little egg waiting for it to spin and cluck and having the kids open them and get a tiny little sticker or leftover Halloween vampire teeth.. I know they get a prize every time and it has to be profitable but 1000 eggs with the same thing is pretty ridiculous. Lastly, despite hundreds of options for crust and cook time and every cooking option and cutting option available it seems far too often the same pie comes in the box... cut in squares even though u asked for slices, done to the same barely done finish despite asking for crispy, and don't get me started on the wings or the wing sauce which is something out of a horror movie... ultimately I guess enough people are happy with it or they wouldn't still be in business but personally I get pizza here and hope for the best (as I said you might get your best pizza ever) then I order my wings rom the place on the Hill in Sherrill that always serves the best wings & ask them if they're ever gonna start making pizza to save me having to go to TWO DIFFERENT...
