We’re from out of town visiting our nephew at Oswego for family weekend & his birthday. We read the positive reviews & we were looking forward to celebrating his birthday here. The water girl was very friendly & attentive. She was the only positive aspect of the entire dinner.
FOOD: Two of the drinks we ordered were wrong. We ordered two sangrias & there was no fruit in them. We mentioned this to the waiter & instead of bringing the correct drinks, he brought over a tiny bowl with a small amount of fruit for the two drinks. We should have known at this point.
I never received my soft drink.
Ordered wings as an appetizer, they came burnt & only received 5 small wings instead of 6.
The bacon on one of the burgers ordered was burnt.
The French fries that came with the two orders were cold & tasted exactly like McDonalds fries.
All the food was brought out & everyone was almost done eating while my sister & I were still waiting on our tiny Margherita pizza. The waiter then came over & said it was done wrong & a new pie had to be cooked & it would take less than 5 minutes, yet we waited almost another 15 minutes.
Finally got the Margherita pie & it is nothing like a true Margherita. Absolutely zero tomato sauce, the cheese tasted very strange & had a strange texture, the crust was very salty. It tasted worse than a grocery store frozen pizza & was $16.
We originally planned on having desert & possibly sing happy birthday but it was such an awful experience & the food was terrible so we decided not to even attempt it.
SERVICE: The waiter seemed rushed the entire time although there was just a few people dining. He tried to be friendly & make jokes, but it all seemed very forced & awkward. He never once asked how the food was, if he did we likely would have mentioned all of this.
COST: It was over $100 & of course we left a tip. We left so disappointed that this is how my nephews birthday dinner went.
I really do not like to leave negative reviews, but cannot comprehend how this place has nearly 5 stars and want to share our experience with others who read reviews so can then decide if they want...
Read moreThe place looks nice. I'll probably come back given the limited options in the area. We order some arancini as a starter, it was delicious and the best item of our whole meal. The pesto was delicious, the gorgonzola was great, and the leek didn't come through but great overall, 4.5/5 for this dish. For the main, I order the Pork Osso Bucco, and my partner had the Pumpkin Gnocchi. The pork was nice and tender, but didn't absorb much of the flavors it was braised on so it was a little bland. The polenta was delicious. The broccoli was good but was not drained before serving, so there were pools of water forming around it that didn't look good and diluted the polenta, it also didn't have any seasoning. The walnut gremolata didn't add anything to the dish. The jus was great, probably the best part of this dish. I just wish the pork itself could have picked up some of the jus flavors. The gnocchi was good but didn't have any cheese, which would have made it better since they use cream on their sauce. The worst part was the maple syrup, we will not be ordering this dish ever again. It was way too sweet, overpowering everything and making it a daunting task just to finish the dish. Why make a dessert out of your main dish? I would prefer no syrup at all, any small amount is probably too much for the delicate flavors that the dish has, maple overpowers it. We also got some cocktails but they were also below average, and very sweet, so we'll probably just stick to wine or water.
As a meat-eater, I have some other dishes to try here and hopefully they'll be better, but for vegetarians, there aren't many options. There's a vegetarian mole on the menu but we're afraid they might have used sugar in the dish when mole is strictly a savory dish. After the maple syrup experience, we're...
Read moreOn 2/17/24, my wife and I went out for a date night, which we rarely get to do. We chose this restaurant. When we arrived there weren't any tables so we sat at the bar. We ordered 2 drinks and one appetizer. The 2 drinks and the appetizer were made perfectly, but we should have stopped right there. We ended up ordering 2 more drinks, but these drinks were not made well. They were 90% lime juice. I ordered their double cheeseburger. I asked for it to be cooked medium, but it was cooked well-done, the bun was burnt, and there was zero house sauce on it. This was fine with me because at the end of the day, it's still just a burger. My wife ordered the carbonara, which was too salty. She went to take ot home but found a long hair stuck to her plate. When we brought it up to staff, they simply said "ok" and took the plate away. By this time, we both started to have intense heartburn from the drinks we ordered and just wanted to leave. I understand that it's hard to make everything perfect, especially on a busy night, but when a restaurant has a menu as expensive as this, you expect better food and service than what we received. After all this, we still ended up paying $100.98 after tip. At the end of the day, my wife and I now know not to choose this restaurant again the next time we are...
