We were gifted a $150 gift card for my sonâs birthday. We made the 90 minute drive to splash, arrived around 11am to find no parking spaces available. Had to park very far away and walk in the blistering cold. Then paid $106 for myself, my two kids ages 7 & 10, and for my mom to simply spectate on the side. Thatâs seems extremely high for the amount of attractions they have to offer. I then asked if I just bring the gift card up to the splash cafe to use the remaining $44 on pizza and drinks for my kids. I was told the gift cards arenât eligible for their food or their arcade. That was insane to me. We drove an hour and a half, you canât bring in outside food or drinks, and now I wasnât able to use the gift card balance on food. That pretty much ruined the experience for me and my kids as they were hungry after about an hour of playing and unfortunately I didnât bring money for food expecting that the gift card could be used anywhere throughout the park. Oh yeah you also have to pay for a locker so be prepared to spend money at every corner.
Secondly, this place was just insanely packed. As soon as we walked in an hour after opening, there was already nowhere to sit. The pool was cloudy and warm from the amount of kids they were letting in it. There was a 20 person line for the hot tub at all times. During cold and flu season I would recommend they lower the capacity. It really takes away from the enjoyment of the experience when youâre forced to stand up holding your belongings, while you struggle to find your kids in a sea of 200 plus children and adults. Would not recommend and we will not be returning or using the remaining balance on the gift card. I highly recommend cascades waterpark in Cortland! Less crowded, more attractions, and their gift cards can be used ANYWHERE in the waterpark...
Read moreOverall experience was a 4 - 5. Water Park was great for the kids. Went on a school winter break on the weekend. I would NOT recommend eating or drinking on premises. Plan to go somewhere else or bring something to the hotel to snack on The restaurant inside the hotel was less to be desired. Far as the food inside the water park goes, they gave our order to someone else. While we waited for eternity to get our food, several other people were grumbling as well. Again, I recommend taking a break and going up the street for a quick lunch or dinner.
Strike 2 - We decided to return for another adventure. They have now dropped to 3 stars. Check in to the hotel is at 4pm while check out is at 11am. We arrived at 420pm. We were told no rooms were available yet. So now we lug everything back out to the car through the snow and cold. Then go back in to let the kids at least start swimming. Parents at this point can't get undressed to swim as we needed to go back out to the vehicle to gather everything once the room was ready. Certainly not impressed. Next time, it'll be a different indoor water park.
Strike 3 - Down to 1 star. After an hour of waiting for an alleged clean room, we check in. Gather everything from vehicle again and head to the room. Get to the door and it's propped open. Peak inside and it's NOT clean. Cleaner even shocked they're handing out keys to uncleaned rooms. Room canceled and we left to stay at another hotel for the night. That was the straw the broke the camels back. We won't be...
Read moreWe had the best time! The water temperature was comfortable, never were we cold. The hot tub was so cozy. My kiddos, 4 and almost 2, didnât stop playing for the whole 3 hours we were there. The lifeguards were AMAZING, like nothing Iâve ever seen. They are constantly moving and scanning the water, up and down each section. Never once did I see them socializing or milling about. I was very comfortable letting my children play and slide. The kid section was great for all ages, the mini tube slide was a huge hit⌠mimicking the big slides they have. My girl was tall enough for the big slides and the lifeguards explained and showed her how to slide properly, each time they reminded her. I was incredibly impressed with how well they handled little kids, keeping them safe and letting them have fun at the same time. Staff was so helpful, our wagon got caught heading out of the changing room and one of the ladies popped right over to help with the back of the wagon. Little things like that keep mommas coming back. Warm showers to rinse off, soap dispensers there too, made an easy wash up after we played. Everything is close together, making it easy for me to have my little in the kid section and my bigger girl heading up for another slide down the slide. We were so busy playing we didnât venture up to the arcade or to get food, but it is so convenient that everything is there together! Splash park on one floor, arcade on the next and restaurant/bar on the next. Elevators too! Add it to your to do list, you wonât be...
