Handsome Devil BBQ PK — Restaurant in City of Poughkeepsie

Great experience. Ate in. Ordered way too much just so we could give it all a try and take the rest home. We have benn to the place in Newburgh a few times.

Brisket, from the point was perfect, crazy moist. Just saw a "take out" post saying that theirs was dry, I'm totally surprised by that. Same day here... maybe the flat was drier - ask for the point!

Cauliflower was a big win, so want to know what the recipe for that is...please tell me ;-)

Mac-n-cheese was very good, Turkey breast was excellent, pulled pork was fantastic.

Ribs... ok everyone loves a rib in their own certain way... they got me down. You can take a bite of the rib and pull slightly, you get a chunk. They don't just fall apart in your hands... For me - Perfect.

My only problem, and probably my own issue. The Ribs came sauced, I'd much prefer to sauce them myself... I want to get that dry rub pop from the rib, then sauce then if i need to. Or if you're going for the sauce, sauce then and get them on the heat to bind up the sauce more. It's not about the sauce for me.

Absolutely going again. Not sure if I can get grub hub or another to drive all the...

I threw “bbq near me” into the google and out popped Handsome Devil. Straight to the reviews and I saw some impressive experiences. I stopped in on my way back to Highland to grab a sample of brisket. WOW! So, I’ve been around a little while now, lived around the states and had bbq of many styles. This was the most tender, juicy, and flavorful brisket I’ve ever had.

Fast forward to today. On our way back from getting a Christmas tree we (my family and I) stopped for an early dinner. We ordered brisket, wood fired chicken, a half rack, jalapeño cheddar sausage, Mac ‘n cheese, beans, slaw, and corn bread. Before I even get to the food, let me just say the staff was awesome. So friendly and polite. All smiles. They checked in on us numerous times while we ate.

The food was perfect! The brisket was just as I had experienced a couple days before. The chicken was juicy with huge depth of flavor. The skin crispy and delicious. Ribs….bangin’! Sides….bangin’! At one point my 7 year old daughter said “this makes me thankful I’m not a vegan”.

The reviews on this place don’t lie. Go here! You will leave...

A serendipitous accident and a hospital admission landed us on the path for lunch one fine day and found us here at Handsome Devil BBQ. The ambiance was as warm and inviting as the staff. They were all very attentive. Spacious, but ample seating with small alcohol choice but doesn’t take away from the star which is the food.

We ordered the fattiest cut of brisket they could find, melting in your mouth with every bite. The wings (Buffalo and bbq) were flavorful, although I could have had mine fried up just a bit more. The sides just send this to a 5 star rating. I could not find one side to disappoint. The collards were just like grandma used to make it (if my grandma was from the south), the apple pie baked beans tasted like an apple pie, not just a small hint. The slaw was refreshing to clean the palate between all the food. Oh and Oh Emm Gee, the corn bread might as well be from the dessert menu. It was slamming. Do yourself a favor and make a trip to Handsome Devil if you find yourself in the area. Will...
