China Express — Restaurant in City of Poughkeepsie

I've been getting take - out meals from China Express for years now and highly recommend it to everyone in Poughkeepsie! The food is always delicious, you can compare it to any of the other more expensive Chinese restaurants and it only costs $1.25 per scoop for the items in the front buffet counter. LOOKS CAN BE DECEIVING! I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND BRINGING A DATE HERE! (HA HA HA) However, there's nothing wrong with the food as take out. They also have a regular menu that I've never ordered from because I'm always in the mood for the "scoops" food. Here's an idea about the dishes they have up front for $1.25/scoop: Pepper Chicken Beef w/Mushrooms Bourbon Chicken Beef w/Broccoli Gen Tso's/Sesame Chicken Fried (YES, FRIED!) Chicken Teriyaki Sticks Butter Potatoes Lo Mein Fried Rice Egg rolls EVERYTHING IS DELICIOUS! This may not be the fanciest place but the food is definitely affordable especially for today's budget. It's $1.25 per scoop of food and they're generous portions for that price. You can also order from a main menu but the $1.25/scoop seems to be what most enjoy about the restaurant. My favorite part of my review is to talk about the owner and what this business delivers. This business is in the most deprived area of PK and the owner treats all of his customers with respect and no prejudice or discrimination. I believe this is also why he set his prices so low. I’ve live in PK 2 years now. The man who owns this place is one of the hardest workers I’ve ever seen. In the face of COVID and rising food cost this man continues to provide a consistent product for an extremely modest price point. An honest review from an honest person.
