My husband and I decided to try The Big Tomato for a Sunday morning breakfast for takeout. I ordered through Google: 3 pancakes ($7.99), a cheese omelet ($10.59), a side of bacon ($3) and a sausage, egg and cheese sandwich ($5). Everything with tax and the convenience fee, it came to $30.24. During pickup, my husband saw it was really clean in there with such old-fashioned decor. We get back home to find only two pancakes, a very slim sausage, barely any egg and cheese sandwich and a tiny omelet. We quickly regretted placing this order. I called to let them know there were only two pancakes in the to-go container. She offered to make us another pancake, which I declined and requested a refund. I got an email stating she only refunded me $1! So they're meaning to tell me two pancakes only cost $6.99? I doubt it! Their prices are all over the place for their items and don't make any sense. $10.59 for an omelet alone with no including sides???? Really??? We've gotten bigger egg sandwiches elsewhere for a more reasonable price, too. This was a massive disappointment. You can definitely say we won't be returning as they totally...
Read moreHave been going here for several years. I love this place. The people are great, the food is great, fresh and affordable. The blueberry pancakes are magnificent, AND they even have sugar free syrup for you. Tell me a restaurant that will do that! It's a little hole in the wall that nobody except the locals know about. Unfortunately, it's up for sale due to the owners wanting to retire-i don't blame them. But I'm really, REALLY going to miss them. Especially because your know whomever buys the place won't keep the charm it presently has. Don't miss going here, while you can. It is worth every single penny. And the people are as wonderful as the food they made behind...
Read moreI haven’t been here in about 3 years I didn’t realize John the owner retired . I honestly wasn’t impressed with the quality of the food I got. I ordered a BEC on a bagel and hash browns. I ended up getting a Super stale bagel. In addition to that I thought I was getting John’s Shredded hash browns and ended up with diced potatoes that weren’t crispy! So said John retired! It looks nicer in there now but honestly I wasn’t in there for the atmosphere I was in there for the good quality food. Prices went up slightly but that was right on par for today’s world. Anyways gonna have to find another old school spot that has good quality food. Service was great though I will...
