We ordered a few appetizers and a few meals to all share. Unfortunately one of our meals came with the wrong side dish and the only one of the four meat items we got was palatable. Beef schwarma was greasy and tasted of spoiled meat, chicken was okay, the katfka was extremely overcooked and just not good at all. None of the meat on the Mashawi plate was good really which was a major bummer. The hummus was good but I prefer more garlicky. The baba ganoush tasted old and odd. I tossed that as well. I've made my own that came out better so it was just disappointing. The pita bread was out of this world amazing - fresh, thick, plentiful. Almost too plentiful. We had lots leftover lol. And the tabouli, what they did give us, was amazing as well and I went back for more the next day and more dolma grape leaves. Those were tasty although the ones we got the next day were slightly overcooked. Unfortunately everything comes with greek salad and if you don't care for it, it goes to waste. It gets hot with the hot grape leaves which is kinda gross and then there's oily stuff in the bottom and the dressing they give is very watery so it's just not good and would rather have other side dish options. Tomatoes were mealy and past their prime on the second day. Falafel was good but dipping sauce was missing. :/ Overall, I'd eat here again but check your order before leaving, avoid the meat dishes, and...
Read moreI was sharing my great experience with Lebanese food in London with a friend. I was recommended sultans in mount hope. And that made me a realize how good Ruba was in London in so many different ways. Let’s start with service at sultans. When we entered we were greeted with total indifference. We were challenged on our selections when we took a bit more time even if there wasn’t anyone n the restaurant behind us. The time taken for elementary dishes was long. This wasn’t not just my observation. When we entered someone was complaining how long did it take to get two sandwiches out. And the. When asked for an extra plate to split one of the dishes, I got a flimsy paper plate.
Now on to the food. The fattoush was overly acidic …… I think too much vinegar or pomegranate molasses. And had to on a treasure hunt for the pita crisps. And the lettuce was a bit flat. The chicken kabab in pita was good but could have more spices.
As a checkout, this experience did the the job at relatively low cost. I will be taking my longing for Lebanese...
Read moreWe hadn't been to Sultan's in some time but decided to order delivery for dinner. While the baba ghanoush was deliciously creamy, the chicken on my fattoush salad was hard and dry with an overwhelming cinnamon aftertaste. While waiting for our order, we missed a call from the delivery service saying the restaurant put the dressing on the salad anyway even though we asked them to put it on the side since it would get soggy and I can't eat the whole salad in one sitting. Upon receiving the salad, I noticed some of the cucumber was extra soggy with one piece being extremely mushy. That aside, I did enjoy the flavor of the dressing. The pita bread appears to also be different and less fresh than the last time we visited. Overall, it was an underwhelming and somewhat disappointing experience and am unsure about returning to frequent the restaurant with the inability to do something as simple as leaving dressing on the side for a salad on a...
