Eastman Institute for Oral Health — Attraction in City of Rochester

They are liars I do not recommend going to Eastman Dental! It is over crowded yet they tell you they are short staffed when it looked well staffed. One lady just sitting there behind the front desk looking around doing nothing just talked to her co workers & she saw that I was waiting to be checked in & did not call me over. Prior to this appt, I was on the wait list from Sept. 2023 they told me call back Nov Dec 2023 told me I'm still on wait list that I should be scheduled by Jan Feb 2024 nope, than I was told Mar Apr still nothing on Apr 4 a lady scheduled me for 4 25 24 assured I have an appt. I pre medicated only to find out I have no appt. They told me someone from the reception I believe made the appt incorrectly using lies & feeble excuse so I took my antibiotic for nothing. Than when they scheduled a new appt 6 weeks later, they tried to pull a fast one, telling me after putting on a dental drape & goggles, that I cannot get my teeth cleaned today they are short staffed I was so upset!! They have these people walking around in black medical uniforms just to relay messages Idk what the hell they do but a waste of tax payers money in my opinion. I told the girl in the black scrubs this is unacceptable, I already premedicated I was given this appt good thing they honored it. They pulled a cancellation on my son once when they called my son can you come in sooner he did on time than cancelled on him he arrived. Than they said to me with my appt oh you were late while sitting in the dental chair, I was not late at all!! They had to find another dentist to clean my teeth not sure why which it was their delay, not my fault! They are liars! I hope to find a private dentist I only went to Eastman because my pvt dentist doesn't take my insurance the new practice...

Upon taking X-rays and having a consultation for my wisdom teeth removal, I found the dentist and his supervising physician to be rather unpleasant and unprofessional. I was told in my consult that they would use nitros oxide and novocaine for the procedure, which was not the case. I ended up needing about 20 shots on my left side and still left in extreme pain. They tried to talk me out of taking my right tooth, due to the amount of time it took on the left one. With this being the one of two options that had accepted my insurance, that made me feel like I was just a check to them. I felt every single thing they did, and not just in the pressure of having dental work done. I was crying, screaming, and they just got more and more annoyed that I still felt it. The only positive person during the entire thing, the dental assistant. He was a young Asian man, VERY nice, comforting, he played music I liked on the computer, and tried to make small talk with me based on my clothes/hair/and Kirby wallet. They give you a number to call if still in pain afterwards, I called four days ago and can’t receive a call back about some actual medication besides the Tylenol and ibuprofen they gave me. My novocaine wore off before I even got one hour into my two hour drive home. I have had a lot of dental work done before with my primary dentist, as well as my top wisdom teeth taken by a different surgeon and this has been by far the worst...

Went to Eastman dental to have tooth pulled. They took x-rays and looked at it then told me they couldn't do the surgery there, I needed to go to 4th floor to Eastman institute for oral health. They charged me $151 and told me to go up there. I went to the 4th floor and was charged another $89 just for a consultation to schedule an appointment. I expressed that I was sent up from downstairs and had already paid but nope had to pay again. After seeing another doctor he said they couldn't do it today and I would have to schedule to come back. When scheduling they wanted $4000+ down payment just to schedule appointment. So basically I spent over six hours in waiting room, paid $240 for absolutely nothing, and walked out still in pain with no service and $240 out of my pocket for absolutely nothing in return!!!
