Arctic Island & Cafe — Restaurant in City of Syracuse

I was going to give up one star but I decided to be nice being that this is usually a good spot to go get ice cream but today I had a bad customer experience. When I went there to get icecream for myself and my daughter when they gave it to her her ice cream was soup so I told her to take it back and tell them can they remake it well I guess this is something new being that maybe it's new management or something but they told her that they couldn't make it back that is 85 degrees outside and when they put caramel on ice cream that's what happens and I tried to explain to him that maybe it's something wrong with ice cream machine because that's not the way they usually work and he just would not let up and refused to make her another ice cream and told me that I had to pay for another one we never left the line we never left the parking lot she never took one scoop he said he gave her the ice cream 5 minutes ago I told him she stood in line 3 minutes to bring it back and you stood there and watched her and never called her to the front and ask her if she had a problem with her ice cream so I guess that's new thing if you're not satisfied with your ice cream you can not get...

I love the quality this ice cream shop maintains. My favorite part is the dipped waffle cone options and that the hard ice cream has a nice amount of fillings for each flavor you get! The price is very affordable. They switched from homemade to Perry's but that is no lose it is still really good, I was shocked actually. They make those really yummy ice cream cookie sandwiches (I'm always looking for the good ones). Only one block from Gannon's, skip the long wait and packed parking that leads to meh ice cream with very little fillings on a styrofoam cone and GO TO Artic Island! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! Also, their indoor Parlor is really fresh and pretty, a great spot to sit and watch the park out the big window and cool off from...

VEGAN Soft Serve!!! Chocolate or Vanilla!! Boo-yah! I'm not Vegan and get their hard ice creams which are top notch....hard-to-beat-flavorful! It's nice to see the new owner has kept the level of quality in their ice creams. Banana Wafer, yum! PB Espresso Oreo, yum! Birthday Cake, yum! ..etc. Good crispy, fresh waffle cones and usually always served with a nice happiness from the employees. I feel for those that think Gannon's is the place for ice cream on the South End and have never been to Arctic...they have no idea what good ice cream tastes like.
