Being both frequent visitors to Cape Cod and lobster roll enthusiasts, my wife and I decided we had to try this new restaurant. I'm happy to report that they deliver the goods. Generous portions of cold-water lobster meat, perfectly cooked, and complimented by various tasty sauces. You can order a Maine -style lobster roll with an aioli containing lemon dill, tzatziki, kimchi, or avocado lime. Or try a Connecticut-style lobster roll with melted brown butter with or without Calabrian chili, honey garlic, or bacon asiago. If you can't make up your mind, you can order a lobster roll flight. They cut one lobster roll into three equal pieces and top each with your choice of three different sauces. Another excellent menu item is the lobster mac n cheese. My description of the dish would be lobster pasta with a creamy gruyere sauce. This might be ordered as an appetizer to share while waiting for your lobster rolls. The Shrimp Po Boy is good, but less than what you would expect to experience in a good creole restaurant. There are other items on the menu that we look forward to trying when we return. The staff are friendly and...
Read moreHave to say was skeptical at first ordering lobster dishes in CNY but our experience with the food today at Lobster Babe was exceptional. We ordered a bunch of different items to go for a Lent dinner including lobster rolls, lobster mac n cheese, lobster bisque and the fish fry. All were fantastic. The lobster tasted fresh and they were not cheap on the quantity of lobster in the roll and the mac. Big, large chunks and did not feel like they were skimpy which is always the fear when paying $20+ for seafood. The fish fry was well battered, fried perfectly and had a very tasty tartar sauce. Even the fries and tater tots were crispy and well seasoned. The lobster bisque was also very flavorful and fresh tasting. Yes it was an expensive meal but if craving lobster and seafood in CNY this is a great option and I would be comfortable spending the money again when the family is craving a lobster dish or fish fry. A nice find for a fresh tasting seafood meal. Would...
Read moreHad a New England style lobster roll, wasn't truly like the real traditional lobster roll served in Maine but it did have plenty of lobster in it. The sauce or condiment didn't compliment the roll and was hardly noticeable. The New England clam chowder was full of clams, but again it wasn't the white creamy chowder you would get in the Nor'east, it was brownish in color and personally I didn't like the flavor. Finally the Mac & Cheese was extremely dry and I couldn't eat it at all. Being a new restaurant I'm sure they will adjust and perfect their menu as they learn the knack of good old New England seafood preparation. I would recommend Lobster Babe for the average lobster lover, but not for the customers that crave real traditional lobster preparation from the North East. I definitely will stop again to see if it has gotten more "Wicked" (Maine Saying For Great). Try it out you may...
