Great shows, Poor experience I'll start by stating I have been acquainted with individuals affiliated with the company, this has no bearing on the following review: My partner and I purchased tickets to a show this past winter and were greeted my the executive producer who was incredibly rude to us as a member of our party left to grab a misplaced vaccination card from their car. Not only was he rude to us but an apparent volunteer corrected his use of their name and pronouns and he went on disregarding the correction which did not sit well with us. My partner and I were sat in the front row, he offered to seat our party together and walked us to their seats, pulled them up as well and put us all in the final row immediately sitting folks he seemed familiar with in the seats he had just pulled us from.
Fast forward to SSITP I entered and the same individual told me where seating was allowed. I went to take the first path down and he began YELLING at my back not to take that path (the other would have been more difficult with what I had on me). A minor thing for sure but very unprofessional. The real issue was close to curtain I see the same man inches from a staff members face, he was red and seething and yelling. The play itself was wonderful but again that experience overshadowed the performances.
I know this man, Ronnie is the executive producer as we are on the e-mail list and were looking forward to SSITP this year. On that note we never received information about the plays from the companies listserv...we did however receive an advertisement for a show featuring his Beatles tribute band.
Pathetic.
I plan on supporting companies that respect their people and are not engendered with apparent egomaniacs. 3 strikes
Edit: Do not contact me. What functioning organization allows a person to respond directly and privately to things of this nature? The "perceived rudeness" inIcludes a violation of protected class, I now have no faith in any mechanism for accountability within the company. Thank you for the insight. If you wish any action, please forward this...
Read moreMy daughters and I purchased the front row seats and dinner experience for “Mid Summer Nights Dream” on August 5th. Everything was ready for us when we arrived and we enjoyed eating before the show. I must admit I am a little prejudiced in this review as my granddaughter was playing Puck. The show started on time and we settled back to watch. I am not a huge fan of Shakespeare but what I saw that night changed my mind! The cast worked flawlessly together to bring this play alive and I saw Shakespeare like I have never seen it before! Every scene was performed with clarity and wit, but the scenes with Puck stole the show! I had never seen my granddaughter perform before but what she did that night made me a believer! It’s a shame the run has ended as this is a play that all Shakespeare lovers should see. Kudos to all the people that made this show happen and I look...
Read moreRecently saw their online production of Love's Labours Lost. A delightful virtual experience, and well done by quality actors. They thought of many details that made the show enjoyable, including ambiance, live music, consistent backgrounds in the actors' zoom screens, a park background, great costumes, and appropro entrances and exits. The actors were hilarious and I have nothing but good things to say. My one suggestion would be to have more pre-production photos of folks in full costume, kind of like a character introduction. Gives the audience more context and the costumes deserve visibility and credit. But it didn't affect show quality at all. The show was fun, entertaining, and delivery of witty lines was on par with true understanding of the language that is...
