Sabatino's Pizza & Deli — Restaurant in City of Syracuse

I was visiting a friend at Van Duyn Rehab. who hasn't had a good meal in months. The staff recommended Sabatinos Pizza for some reason. She was dying for pizza and fried wings. Asked for specials and was told 2 large pizzas and 40 wings for $60. It took forever to get through the order with consent interruptions. It should have taken a minute or two but turned into a nightmare. 1 large cheese and pepperoni and 1 sausage and mushrooms. And of course 40 fried wings. I understand it was Sunday afternoon so it took almost an hour and a half. Because of all the confusion my wife's friend wasn't asked how she wanted her wings. This is what we got. The pepperoni pizza was ok but the sausage and mushroom looked more like a child put this pizza together. It was completely raw, and could not be eaten. The toppings could not be identified. It was a mess. I made the mistake of taking a bite, I had no idea what I was eating except that the taste of so kind of spray cleaner came to mind. Spit it out, threw it out and ate the breaded wings instead. My wife's friend who has lost most of her teeth due to illness was unable to eat the wings they sent us. I know it's a crap shoot when you order food today from someone in a specific area. If you have very poor communication skills you shouldn't be taking orders from customers. After reading several reviews I'm convinced this will fall on deaf ears. I called this morning and asked to speak to the owner and was asked to call back. I'm sure this is how they take care of customer complaints. As I was leaving Van Duyn Rehab I got to talk to a number of people who also ordered from this place. I told them it was the worst experience and food. They also said it was a one and done...

I called to place an order, gave address with apt #, what food was wanted and let the person i was speaking to know I needed the order brought to my apartment! I explained I have a medical condition, that I cannot do that! That was a woman , next a guy gets on barely speaking English says we no have roast beef subs, no have cheesy fries( but have both on thier menus)..I again explained I need delivery to my apt because I cannot walk down to lobby..Which is why I am ordering take out/ delivery! I was told I had to meet driver in lobby!! I'm sorry I can't! Why can't driver deliver to my door.. Response was---Corona... What? No our building is an adult senior living community.. Our area's open to 75 % capacity! Stop using that Covid excuse !! Don't want to deliver ??? WHY own a business that's 98% delivery?? They lost my business, and once I let others know about this in my buildings, we are a big community, frequently ordering take out/ delivery-- ( 428 units) about this!! They may lose even more!! Ridiculous to look for excuses not to deliver...

I'm only giving one star. I was a regular customer there up until yesterday I was humiliated by the manager/ owner. He accused me of calling one of his employees more than one time. When I called only once to thank that person for the free fried dough that he gave me and my daughter and for him to keep my number as a friend if he wanted to. He yelled and screamed at me saying I kept calling when I didn't. I told him to check the call logs and you will only see my number one time. He kept going on and on yelling, to the point where I started to cry and I dropped my slushy on the floor from my hands shaking to just leave. I was so embarrassed in a public place where I have always respected. The one star is only for the pizza they make. As of now I will go elsewhere for my pizza slice and slushy. Good riddens and I feel sorry for you as a person to treat a good person as myself like that. You all lost...
