We did take out from these folks. Absolutely disgusting food and service. Would give zero stars if I could. Spent $165.00, (includes a $30 tip), on the worst possible Thai food in Syracuse!! Rotten tomatoes, and old hard bitter pineapple in the rice. The rice was so old and so overcooked we weren't sure what grain they gave us. Coconut Curry like water. Old brown vegetables. Their fried veggie dumplings are these mystery green triangles that taste like old oil. Gross. We had to throw away everything. It was a real shame. My brother was in from Florida and we were so excited to order Thai because it’s one of our absolute favorites. All the lovely fresh vegetables, proteins and fluffy Jasmin rice. Uh uh, None of that! We were both like WOW when we called them for help, and they said it was all their original recipes & they were sorry we didn't like the food? They didn't even offer new food for us to pick up, or to deliver a new order & pick up the old from us. Nothing.. Even after we told them about the rotten vegetables and that they can clearly see everything for themselves. Then, when I asked for a refund they passed me off to two different people then she said I had to travel to the restaurant for cash, she wouldn’t refund my credit card, and would only give me a 50% refund. I told them I was prepared to give them a really bad, but honest review, I just wanted a full refund. But here we are because they said, "go ahead, we don't care." I did end up going to the restaurant, and they did give me the 50% refund in cash. But man! I don’t know about you, but they made it real hard for us to get anything decent from them. The whole experience was Really disappointing. Wish I took pictures...
Read moreThai Flavor is very attractivly decorated restaurant with many interesting paintings and other works of art on the walls. The ambiance is extremely calm and friendly. The menu is extensive and has quite a few dishes that are new to me. I opted for the very reasonably-priced lunch special and especially enjoyed the shrimp with red curry sauce main dish. The lunch special comes with the main dish, soup, and dessert of your choice. Everything was delicious and the soup had an authentic Thai flavor but also seemed to I have a distinctive taste all its own. It appears as if they can serve wine, but I opted for two Thai iced teas which were also delicious. The seating seems equally comfortable for one or two people or a large party. If I had a guest coming in from out of Syracuse, Thai Flavor would be at the top of my list of restaurants to take him or her to. It's a little unfortunate that the restaurant is slightly not in an obvious location. Rather, it's off of Erie Boulevard, which is easy to get to, but just not able to be seen very easily from the road. Still, it's worth any extra effort to go to this restaurant for an outstanding and unique meal for either lunch or dinner. Highly...
Read moreWhat an amazing find. I’ve lived in New York City where I fell in love with Thai food. The cheap and delicious lunch specials were out if this world. And I’ve been looking for the same thing in Central NY.
I’ve been told that my favorite NYC Thai chefs were from Chaing Mai, and when I visited Thailand and went to that area to eat, it was just like being home. I also noticed the difference between this area and others in Thailand.
Well I was pleasantly surprised to experience those flavors again at Thai Flavor. The food is great. The service is very good. The decor is also authentic Thai.
When we went the restaurant was pretty empty, which was a red flag, but turns out that this just might be an undiscovered gem. Maybe area locals come at lunch time instead of dinner.
Do yourself a favor and eat here, we’ve been back twice already and live 45 minutes away. If we lived closer we’d be here all the time. Yum, I’m missing...
