This place is the absolute quintessential family owned neighborhood NY pizza joint. A local favorite highly recommended by the place we delivered our trucks to. As soon as you walk in the door of this perfectly situated corner old school brick storefront building you are lambasted by delicious mouthwatering Italian cooking. There is the mandatory east coast slices ready to be mauled and a small but perfect menu to be ordered from. All my trips back east especially New England demand I order local fare pizza or deli. I love THIS PLACE. It takes me back to my childhood 55+ years past. The family store..pride in recipes, clean, constant stream of local people by name eating in taking out. Use of local product, in store homemade scratch old school prep and cooking. It is worth cutting off the highway and stopping by for stellar eats. A little out of the way but HEEZOOS montechristos..so worth the effort. Eat in..enjoy the local blue collar east coast American family businesses while you can. Support these folks. They are a holding on to the lost art of making you feel like one of the family. We are from Indiana right by Chicago and I tell people about places like this. We have them. We love them. They embody local flavors accents and flair. Food and music is what makes us all part of the greater whole. I thank these places..this place Giuseppe's happens to be just an awesome ambassador to the Waterveilt\Troy\Albany New York area. Thanks folks. It was our pleasure. 2 pieces made it home and my wife is ready to move back east. (...
Read moreUPDATE - UPDATE - UPDATE Sadly, as of January 2025, we no longer order from Giuseppe's Pizzeria and Deli.
Our pizzas kept coming burnt. Ours is a family of 3, so we always order enough to reheat another night. Burnt pizza can't be reheated. It's rarely edible when you get it.
We should have started checking them out when they were delivered.
When we ordered the next week we told them "the pizzas we got last week were burnt, please make sure they aren't overcooked this week". The person on the phone said they would take care of that for us. Our orders still arrived burnt.
Previous places we were regulars at, frequently replaced the food that wasn't prepared correctly at no charge. Some even threw in extras to make up for it.
UPDATE - UPDATE - UPDATE
We "used to order a pizza or two from Giuseppe's Pizzeria and Deli almost every Friday. We had them delivered."
We had been ordering from Giuseppe's exclusively for 3 - 4 months now. We've been happy and satisfied with every order. We really like their pizza with meatballs.
"We don't rate many restaurants 5 stars. Our experience has been when we've been ordering from a place once a week for a while, the service and quality goes down." They lasted...
Read moreCame upon Giuseppe's while driving aimlessly on a beautiful day. They have a two slice and can special for six bucks and I was hungry so figured why not. I am SO glad I why notted First the atmosphere. It's a pizza joint. Big pizza display. Soda cooler. Tables and chairs. Condiments on the counter. Italian stuff on the walls. For a pizza joint five stars Got the slices heated and dined in. Best best best NY style pizza I've had in the Cap District bar none note-I'm a Long Islander. These are thin crust still crunchy not over sauced or cheesed slices that I grew up with. When I say thin crust I mean cracker thin. Cracker crunch too. I realize they just came off the brick in the oven but the second slice was not only still crunchy but only the tip flopped when held up. The chew and flavor of the dough was perfect, the sauce balanced. You can actually taste each of the main ingredients. Washed down with a Dr Pepper and I was back in my high school pizza joint again Didn't catch the counter guys' name but he was friendly and efficient with everyone who came in, calling a few by name(repeat customers) Great job gang! I look forward to coming back...
