This used to be one of my go-to spots. I came in, ordered a chicken roll, and sat down to eat. The owner made a comment saying, “Don’t forget to pay me or I’ll remind you.” I acknowledged him and continued my meal.
A short time later, he approached again and asked for payment. I hadn’t finished eating yet and had left my wallet in the car. Once I was done, I went out to get my wallet. I also left my cellphone on the table, clearly indicating I was returning to pay.
When I returned, the owner confronted me aggressively about paying. I explained that I wasn’t done and asked him not to speak to me in such a manner. I told him, “Please stop harrassing me about the money; I’ll pay when I’m finished.” This seemed to upset him. He then came out from behind the counter, pointed his finger in my face, and said something along the lines of, “You’re going to show me some respect or there’s going to be a problem.” There was foul language involved but google won't publish it.
I didn’t appreciate being spoken to that way or having someone point their finger in my face. While I might have chosen my words more carefully, I still felt the situation was completely unnecessary, especially over a small bill.
At that point, I stood up and told him not to get in my face. He then loudly demanded I pay and "get out of the store," all while families and children were present. I asked him if he thought that kind of language was appropriate in front of kids, but it didn’t seem to matter to him.
I paid at the counter, and a couple of employees did apologize as I was leaving.
This situation could have been handled in a much more professional manner. I’ve always paid for my food and have been respectful as a customer. While I understand that businesses need to ensure customers pay, the aggressive behavior and language from the owner were completely unwarranted and disappointing. Unfortunately, this experience has led me to take my...
Read moreI walked in and stood trying to figure out where to sit as most of the tables say reserve and the other ones had people sitting in them. So i would be rude i walk back to the door hoping someone will say Hi, or welcome or sit here. I wait longer. The man who is eating notices me waiting and gets the waiters attention then the waiter points me in the direction of one of the reserved tables. Should have just sat here anyway.
The place is like a neighborhood spot with a lot of locals, families and people who work in the area on lunch grabbing food.
I ordered a cappuccino. Italian style and a slice of pizza. I’m looking off of the to-go menu and don’t know if it is the same as the regular menu or lunch menu. The waiter never gave me a proper menu after i told him It was my first time.
Pizza came and was absolutely delicious. Large slice. Big enough for lunch. Don’t know how anyone could eat two. Just like i like it. Not a ton of bread either. Not hard, and not soggy. I had a meat lovers slice and can taste all of the flavors of the meat. It’s not weighted down in pasta sauce and cheese. Cappuccino was also very good.
The waiter is running around the restaurant and he is the only one which i assume is the reason for my wait.
The group of men next to me seem like regulars. There is a daily special that the waiter gives an in-depth explanation of the sea bass. I wish i would have known. As i would have had the same.
After being done with my pizza, because there is a heavy Italian influence in the restaurant I ordered a cannoli. The waiter said that is was homemade. And it was. This is definitely one of the best I’ve ever had. The outter layer was crunchy but not hard, had chocolate drizzle over and whipped cream. Very very delicious.
Five stars for the taste and presentation, 3 stars for...
Read moreI have patronized this business twice. Last weekend and this weekend to be exact. Their customer service is poor when dealing with people of color. The first time I entered this restaurant I sensed negativity/racism. It’s as if my friends and I didn’t belong. Then, I said I will never again spend my funds supporting their business. However, earlier today we had no choice but to grabbed lunch there. The cashier who charged a black customer $1 for extra ketchup is despicable! First, he gave the young lady 3 single packs of ketchup with a large plate of fries 🍟. She asked for extra and he charged her a dollar extra while gave another customer 10 packs of ketchup with the same size plate of fries. You people can never get my business going forward. And for that one black lady working in the back, she needs to recognize her worth and seek better place of employment. It’s more than troubling to see the only black person (woman) working here washing pots and cleaning up...
