La Marqueta — Local services in City of White Plains

Honestly have to say the worse store to go into. When you walk in they make you wait for more than 10 minutes just to order. Every time I go into this store it's always an argument and I know it has to deal with race. When I go into the store I'm always confused with being Caucasian and always get treated bad. The moment I start talking Spanish and express how I feel on how they treat ppl not only are they surprise they get upset because I'm pointing out how they treat people who don't speak spanish or not of their culture. A few days ago I brought tomatoes and avocado and the food was rotten. This is business that depends on the customers service and yet they treat people as trash. Will not be going back to this store. The only thing keeping this store open is the family shelter...

Today Friday, January 10th 2025. The staff this morning except for one young lady seems as though they refused to cash out 2 black women waiting to pay. There is this young lady, whom I reported to her boss and stop going there for over four years because of some incidents geared towards African Americans. Personally, I hoped behaviors did change but it still exist. The problem is whatever conversation they were having, which even the cook got involved. Basic common sense was not in action here, reason is when you are talking about a person in your language, intelligence will at least let the other parties know not to look at the person be talked about. This store has a very powerful Blessing on the community whereas it serves a major hospital, government buildings, residential, homeless shelters etc. for years. The owner is a great friend of mine that has a passion of servitude, love, respect for said communities. His workers from the cashiers, stock, butchers, deli, cooks are a gentle extension of the owners qualities and character. Javi, Yami, Mike, Bryan, Dahlia, etc are the epicenter of great customer service, devotion, respect and integrity. Keep doing a great job, this community...
