Tommy's Deli & Cafe — Restaurant in City of White Plains

If the first face you see when you walk in is the little Asian lady at the front, your already off to a bad start! Talk about someone who really doesn’t like their job and it shows in her face daily! Very nasty and rude and changes the prices on a daily Basis...I constantly have to look at the cook to make sure he’s making my food right and a few times had to correct him before leaving with the wrong order! It’s very sad me and a bunch of employees use to go here and I see why we stopped! The Asian lady at the front even told me”Good don’t come back!” After being the one with the attitude now you would think she would have more respect! Talking with co workers about the situation they said she is very nasty and the owner Has been told about it! A few friends of mine and others have noticed when customers of Caucasian Descent walk in they are greeted so passionately with a “Hello!” And a smile! Someone of African american descent...Never greeted...Even says “Eww!” If you order something SHE deems nasty! Always has something smart to say! I don’t know what Tommy is doing about it but remember the customer is always right! “ALWAYS” unfortunate situation because it’s close to the job but I rather drive further so I can get treated with respect! I would say I wish the business well but Karmas ugly and that’s the only way an establishment can...

I really hope you're reading this, Tommy! We have been regular customers here for many years and order from you every weekend, as well as during the week.

Today around 1:45pm, I waited in line an exceptionally long time for my pick-up, which allowed me watch what was going on behind the counter. I was disgusted to see a women — Spanish descent, long hair, wearing a hot pink shirt – picking at food and eating it WHILE preparing food. She reached in the front display and ate a crouton, then popped a fry in her mouth ... all while wearing her rubber gloves that she DID NOT change before going back to preparing food (still chewing, while frying bacon).

As I paid my bill, I told the Asian woman at the register (who was flustered, as usual) that the woman shouldn't be eating while preparing food. She said to her "did you hear that?" Then turned back to me and said "she didn't eat anything." I said, "I LITERALLY just watched her eat a crouton and a french fry. It's unsanitary, actually, it's disgusting."

All I received was an "Oh." No apology. Honestly, if you are hungry, you're hungry, but change your gloves and don't call me a liar when I was looking directly at you the...

If there was the least bit of real competition close-by,this Deli would have to improve or it would be gone - and they are well aware that they can do whatever they want and not go out of business.This is made most obvious by the fact that the cashier treats many people like dirt,and the owner knows it and does nothing.I've given her the benefit of the doubt several times but no more.I notice no one defends her on here.My last visit, she made a simple mistake by giving me the wrong bag.I realized it and came running back to correct it.Her reaction was intense anger toward me.She shook her head and rolled her eyes till other customers took notice.Even though I said nothing,she then said very loudly to everyone that I was to blame. There are people who make the world a worse place for all of us.She is one of these people. I hope some very smart business person starts up a great place nearby.
