EDITED/CORRECTION: 04/15/2022 (I realized my review a year ago should have been for GOLDEN FOUNTAIN -in MOUNT VERNON on MOUNT VERNON Ave. Not the New Golden Dragon in Yonkers. I have never been to that restaurant and they are not associated ) I first came across this gem while attending a workshop at the nearby Mount Vernon Workforce and Development office. A classmate said the food was good so I followed her there for lunch (pre Covid). My first thought was WOW! While the restaurant is small, it is very clean and neat. You have a complete view of the kitchen and everything is in its place. No weird smells or anything. The lovely Asian (owner) woman, was so kind and friendly which was definitely the reason behind a few of the stars I gave. Now for the food. I've had Shrimp Egg Fu Yung, General Tso's chicken, lemon chicken, shrimp fried rice, Lo-Mein, vegetable Egg Fu Yung and the beef and broccoli (all at different visits). Everything that I have had has been delicious! Always hot and fresh and made to order! You can taste the ingredients. The scallions and bean sprouts and the chicken is especially tasty, it never has that "poultry" taste or any suspect after tastes. I've had Chinese food from the west coast, mid-west an all up and down the eastern seaboard and New Golden Fountain on Yonkers Ave is by far one of the best! Try it once and you'll...
ย ย ย Read moreIf you like General Tsos chicken, I would look elsewhere. The meat tastes very generic, almost fake, definitely not like chicken. If you're in the Yonkers area, the best white meat General tsos in my opinion is at HOHO's (u have to ask for all white meat-additional charge $1.00) The pork fried rice is good..the egg roll was terrible and the guy/owner wasn't nice to me (a new customer) and gave me a death look when I asked for extra duck sauce. lol. This is my honest review, my first time was my last time, I've tried almost every Chinese food place...

The customer service is excellent. Sue is a beacon of hospitality.
The pork fried rice is cooked in a thick and rich oil and sauce combination. No random vegetable, just straight scallions, pork, onion, and scrambled egg.
The wor tip wontons are charred on one side like pot stickers or gyoza which takes a super flavorful dish beyond the limits of what I thought possible using simple innovation.
These dishes are wasted on mortal men. They should serve food in the...
