Replying to owner: Your comments aren't straightforward factual denials but are convoluted and ambiguous. Your site here shows the metal cans you may not be selling now but sold until very recently. I kept a cap from my past purchase and other people as well identify it as aluminum. A 3rd party is welcome to test it and the oil you sold me. The PO doesn't give their free padded Priority Mail envelopes to everyone who sends something to use as padding. They're to enclose expensive Priority Mail. I'm sorry but your response supports my original review.
Original review: We only know what Olive From The Raw (OFTR) tells us. But it's unethical to take free new Priority Mail envelopes to cushion oil OFTR is sending by USPS Ground Advantage. That's how my oil came. It makes me leery of anything OFTR says. How do I know they don't also make up their assays?
OFTR oil doesn't taste phenolic to me. I've tasted high-phenolic EVOOs from a top-ranked Georgetown store and from a wholesaler who says he used to supply Gundry with EVOO. They give all the free tastes you want, and all of their high-phenolic EVOO tastes peppery, a bit acidic. Phenol is mildly acidic, so it should have a peppery, acidy flavor, but my OFTR oil is bland, lacks this peppery, acidic taste.
Aluminum is associated with Alzheimer's brains, and my old OFTR EVOO was in aluminum. I threw it out. Plastic famously leaches toxins into its contents. Why does OFTR offer plastic and aluminum containers? I see no reason to trust OFTR and several reasons to avoid it. ...
Read moreI kid you not when I say this is the best olive oil I've ever tasted. The difference between Olive from the Raw and your run of the mill organic olive oil from Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, etc, is night and day. A simple taste comparison is all I needed. Beyond the taste of this exquisite, organic, and pure olive oil, is the science that is there to back it.
You have to be skeptical of what people market these days (ie: pure this, pure that, organic this, vegan that, packed with antioxidants, etc...) without any proof to back it up. I say this with the discerning consumer in mind. Buying organic doesn't instantly make you any more of an educated consumer. You can buy a product you "think" is organic at your trusted main supermarket chains, but you still won't know what you're really getting. That's right, you won't know where or when it was truly sourced and produced, or if it still holds any health benefits at all. You think you bought an organic olive oil for a relative bargain at your local supermarket, when in fact, you more than likely just bought a blended olive oil that makes no disclaimer as to when it was produced or what it contains. Not all organics are created equal, and especially not when it comes to olive oil!
Do yourself a favor and not only taste Olive from the Raw, but educate yourself to understand what makes this...
