The WORST. Seems like it's under new ownership, and they are rude and uncooperative. I tried to return some blueberries that tasted kinda the way roach spray smells - they were utterly inedible - and they gave me a hard time. While waiting in line I dropped one of the three cartons of blueberries, and while I was helping an employee clean them up, he set the carton aside. So then the cashier said she'd only refund me for two cartons because she couldn't see the third one. So I retrieved it put it up on the counter with the other two, and then she told me they'd only refund me for two, since I dropped one. Seriously? Also, when I put two of the cartons on the counter, SHE knocked one down all over the floor, and then blamed ME for putting them up on the counter. After more than 15 years of shopping here, I am done. It used to be okay, because you got a good price on outdated produce, but lately half the stuff is so old you can't even eat it. Plus the fruit flies all around the store are pretty gross. These people don't care about their customers or the community they serve - they just want your money. Well, they're not getting any more of...
Read moreI usually come to this store when I need last minute items. That ended today. It’s not the first time I encounter rotten bagged fruit but I’ve never brought it back. Today I did since I shopped late yesterday but didn’t notice about 1/3 of the mandarins in each bag were rotten. I politely displayed my receipt and the rotten citrus. I checked the bags from the outside and hadn’t seen the rot. The bad fruit was inside surrounded by the fresh. I was met with contempt by the female owner and told that I needed to bring the whole bag, which I didn’t know. Then she said something to her husband who was passing through. He then turned on me with anger, grabbed the rotten fruit and repeated what his wife said. He said he will replace them but I was no longer welcome in their store! It happened so fast that I didn’t have time to react. I grabbed my receipt and walked out. He roughly handed me the replacement fruit (one was in the early stages of rot). I walked to my car still wondering what...
Read moreGreat deals on seasonal produce here. And if you're like me and prefer reasonably fresh, ripe fruit(Something you can eat today or tomorrow, not something that will sit on a grocery store shelf for the next 2 weeks and not rot.) this is the place to go. They have a good selection of vegetables and fruit, and discount items that are getting too ripe to keep on the shelf.(This is awesome if you like to make tomato sauce or preserves or are too lazy to wait for yellow plantains to turn black. Cheap tomatoes and perfectly ripe/almost overripe fruit.) Downside is that there is a minimum $10 purchase for credit/debit cards, and you do have to know a little about picking out good fruit because sometimes a few things aren't just "ripe", they're rotten. Overall, I prefer to go here than to my grocery store for 3/4 of my produce because it's half the price and tastes...
