Katie's Cottage — Restaurant in City of Yonkers

I always loved it here always came for the trivia nights but I came today on a Sunday afternoon and was not happy. I understand things happen and kitchen gets backed up but what they should’ve done was told us when we walked in “hey there is going to be a long wait,” but instead we ended up waiting 2 hours for our food. When it finally did come out they told me they had run out of what I had asked for (which was the main reason I ordered the meal to begin with) so they gave me something else instead. What??! Again, I understand things happen and if I didn’t just wait 2 hours I would’ve been ok with that but they had plenty of time to come out and let me know beforehand because I would have changed my order. After the combination of waiting 2 hours and then telling me when they bought out the food finally they didn’t have what I asked for the least they could’ve done was at least offer a discount but nothing. To top it off, my poor father who’s in his 70s was getting very uncomfortable sitting there for so long, just a very overall miserable experience. I had the pleasure of visiting this charming Irish pub last night with my husband, and we were blown away by the fantastic food and atmosphere. I ordered the French onion soup, and it was absolutely divine – the perfect blend of savory flavors and rich, cheesy goodness. My husband opted for the steak sandwich, and it did not disappoint – the meat was tender and juicy, and the bread was perfectly toasted. To top it all off, he paired it with a refreshing pint of Guinness beer, which was expertly poured and tasted amazing.

The ambiance of the pub was cozy and inviting, with traditional Irish decor and warm lighting that made us feel right at home. The staff was friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in the door. Had really high hopes going here after reading all of the wonderful reviews. I made my server aware of a food allergy I have and was told they could accommodate. I ordered the irish breakfast and asked that everything be cooked in butter as im allergic to most commonly used oils. Upon receiving my food the black and white pudding and sausage has been very obviously deep fried. The only thing I could eat was the bacon and eggs which were sopping wet in grease. I should have been made aware of the meal I ordered containing deep fried items. The menu does not tell you how anything is cooked and I'm most used to black and white pudding being grilled so I did not think to ask.
