My mom and I went in just out of curiosity because we were passing by and aren’t from the area, but we made a really good choice! My mom got the shrimp mofongo, and I decided to try some, and we definitely recommend getting the shrimp mofongo if you like seafood because the sauce went SOOOO well with the mofongo, it was absolutely delicious and the price was about $25. I decided to go with the pernil, white rice and red beans dinner order, as well as a side of chipotle mac and cheese to try which came out to about $18 for the dinner and $8 for the mac and cheese. I love the dinner meal, I am usually picky when it comes to mac and cheese, but it was actually really good. We decided to treat ourselves to a desert because we never get some when we go to restaurants, especially since we were looking at an apartment near the area, we used it as an excuse to “manifest” getting it, and we went with the apple filled empanada, which came with ice cream and caramel drizzle. I never eat anything apple filled or flavored, but MY GOD was it damn good. The service was so good as well. The theme of the restaurant is really well done too, the lighting, music playlist, decorations, all of it! Truly a good dining experience. I definitely recommend checking it out if...
Read moreThis spot is a solid 5 stars. Great decor, amazing series and absolutely delicious food. They earn the title Best Puerto Rican restaurant in Westchester. I stumbled across this restaurant on Google maps and decided to try it out since I was only a few minutes away. The reviews were all excellent and I can see exactly why. From the moment I walked in and heard freestyle music playing I knew I wasn't going to be disappointed. Ian was friendly and walked us through the menu with pictures of almost every dish. Normally I know exactly what I want, but seeing the dishes made it a tough decision. We opted for the Alcapuria to start, shrimp mofongo, the Latin Smash burger and a pudin de pan for dessert. The alcapuria while a little small, was tasty. The shrimp mofongo was a top teir dish with amazing flavor and the secret was in the sauce. Now how do you take a smash burger and Latin it up? Well replacing fries with tostones was just the start. The real secret is their maduro (sweet plantain) bacon jam, which set this burger apart and was absolutely delicious. After stuffing myself, I had to take the pudin de pan home for dessert, but I can confirm that it's a must try as well. I highly recommend you try...
