I recently had a baby shower in my home for around 75 people and did catering with Tombolino's. From the very first meeting I had with Ezekiel, it was clear this was going to be a very good transaction. He was receptive to my needs as well as offered really GREAT advice about how and when to serve the calamari I wanted as a starter, and about the eggplant rollatini vs parmesan.
The food was getting praised all evening long, and before the event many people were telling me we might have ordered too much food, but once everyone started tasting the food from Tombolino's, most of the trays were empty before the event was even finished!
First the fried calamari, delicious, fresh, well seasoned, and very clearly cooked as soon as we got there so it retained its integrity for a solid 2 hours without the breading falling off. The tray was also adjusted to ensure it stayed great for as long as possible. The guests loved it and kept coming back for more, and I had to set some aside for myself because it was so tasty.
The recommended eggplant rollotini, again absolutely delicious, easy to serve, good sized rolls, fresh sauce, and gone before the night was over.
The toretllini, again, absolutely delicious, and was custom made for me without the prosciutto because of some guests dietary restrictions. It was gone before the evening was over.
Filet of sole francese, I don't really enjoy fish, but my guests seemed to enjoy it, and was only a single piece left after the event.
Lastly, the manicotti, generously filled, clearly freshly made, delicious sauce, PLENTY of cheese, just plain delicious, this was the first thing gone at the baby shower, but I luckily saved a couple for myself for later.
Everything we ordered was really delicious, crowd pleasing, and priced competitively. Ezekiel was a pleasure to deal with, and very helpful and receptive.
I would cater again from here, and recommend them to anyone for their catering needs. I do suggest stopping in so you can talk and get recommendations from Ezekiel...
Read moreMenu advertises a ceasar salad made tableside. The staff seemed overwhelmed by this and the ingredients were brought out and left out for over 10 minutes. A customer passed by and picked up one of the lettuce leaves with his hands and put it back in the bowl on his way out. Thank goodness a staff saw it and took the bowl away to replace it with what we hope was new lettuce. Then many different staff members came and started working on the salad only to be called away leaving the ingredients again unattended for minutes at a time. It seemed there was no direction, Noone in charge and the staff trying their hardest. Finally someone at our table asked them to make the salad and they did, assembling with their bare hands, and in the middle stopped to high five a 4 year old! Very cute but not sanitary! The papardelle bolognese tasted metallic and mediocre. The noodles were great but the sauce as so bad I could not finish. The buratta special was delicious but the prosciutto was sliced too thick and impossible to cut into smaller pieces. The tomatoes were not heirloom and out of season and pale and tough. The chicken soup was flavorless. The roasted chicken was not a juicy half chicken on the bone but a filet - dry and flavorless. My father and mother could not eat it. Dtuffed artichoke needed more flavor as well. The dish that actually tasted best at our table of 6 was the ceasar salad and the seafood linguini. Great wine selection and dining room. Staff cared a whole bunch just seem without organization. Wondering if I should come back and if so which dishes are the best ones so I can enjoy...
Read moreI've reviewed this place before but it's not showing up so I'm posting again. If I could rate this place and the staff 1000 stars I would. The space is spacious enough to host more 80 people. It's clean, well lit with a lovely ambiance, great sound system, the food is totally yummy and great portion sizes, down to earth yet professional and efficient staff and management and they have parking options for events!! Less than a month before our wedding, we had to change our wedding lunch venue. We contacted Ezekiel and that man is a Saint. He was so calm, efficient, professional yet friendly. From his first email he made us feel that it was all going to work out. In person he was even better. He was most accommodating and even when we informed it was wedding related, he didn't try to charge us extra as the other places do. They did a lovely job organizing the many tables we needed yet still leaving the space with enough room, the servers were efficient, friendly and so lovely (they noticed I hadn't eaten the entire time and packed up several plates of each dish for me to take with, which was a God send later). Even when a few guests were unnecessarily rude and difficult they descalated the situation without a scene being caused. This was the the most seamless part of my wedding day/planning and I will always be grateful to them for that. I'd definitely hold another event here and just to have dinner. They're...
