Outstanding, Fresh and Healthy Lunch shared with Mom for her Birthday. Mom chose the grilled chicken tenders, while I chose the grilled hamburger steak and onions with brown gravy. Both of us chose the same three sides, Macaroni & Cheese, Fresh Hamburger Vegetable soup, and the freshest, cleanest salad bar in town.
The grilled chicken, moist and seasoned well. For me, the best hamburger steak and onions I've ever had. Mac and Cheese loaded with cheddar. The vegetable soup delectable. Mom chose the Thousand Islands. Me, I topped the lettuce, tomatoes, onions, beets, hard-boiled eggs with the BEST homemade buttermilk dressing I've tasted in some time, along with croutons.
We were both served carrot cake for our dessert, and when finished with lunch, our waitress, Jennifer offered us a deliciously fresh cup of coffee.
Your Mom will be happy if you take her to The Dinner Bell.
Doesn't matter where you're driving from, whether from I-65S in Mobile at I-10 or any of the fine Lower Alabama beaches to anywhere as far North as Chicago or Toronto ... a perfect lunchtime stop from a morning's 200mi drive up I-65 from the beaches. Ideal place to R&R for a healthy and tasty lunch, served by caring small-town folks with smiling faces.
I'm local. This place is a Keeper, better than just a once a week place to dine.
Compliments to the whole...
Read moreI live in Marbury, I decided to try this place today I usually eat Main St next door but decided to try this, I was very disappointed. The food was not Hot, cornbread was cold my meatloaf looked like it was scraped from the bottom of the pan. The fried green tomatoes was the only thing that was hot. My waitress checked on me one time to ask me how the food was and then I didn’t see her again, then when I went to pay the lady taking my money didn’t ask me how my meal was or to come back again. It seems like you are treated differently if you’re not a regular in there because I seen a lot of favoritism towards other customers. I want be back. I’ll take my...
Read moreJack’s Dinner Bell is a wonderful spot for delicious, home-cooked meals. Their meat-and-three options are always satisfying, and the menu offers a great variety of dishes to choose from. The restaurant may be small, but it’s warm and welcoming, with a friendly and attentive wait staff. Prices are budget-friendly, and portion sizes are just right. The breakfast menu is exceptional—everything tastes like it came straight from grandma’s kitchen! My only wish is that they would offer dinner hours all week and serve the meat-and-three option in the evenings. Overall, a charming and homey place that’s perfect for...
