WAY TOO LOUD! If you don't mind screaming your order to the server and not being able to hear the person sitting next to you because of the extreme chaotic noise which includes them playing the birthday song every few minutes loud enough to hurt my ears then this place is for you. Yes, it is beautifully decorated, but by the time our food came we were ready to leave due to headaches. As far as the food, I am no expert but my order came out wrong because the nice server couldn't even hear what I was loudly trying to order. Salsa is too hot to everyone I've talked to. Despite my opinion, I am truly hoping they make a few changes and do well because it really is a beautiful restaurant. On a positive note, the wait time wasn't bad considering they just opened in a town desperately needing more food establishments, and the staff was very nice despite being under pressure to get customers orders right with the extreme noise level. I actually felt sorry for them. I wish I had more positive things to say but I would want someone to be honest with me so I would know what to expect. And I am hoping they make a few changes and it becomes more of a relaxing, enjoyable experience instead of a chaotic, EXTREMELY loud, party...
Read moreI have been waiting to try this place since it opened, but tonight's payday just happened to line up with their 50% off margaritas, so yay! Parking was rough. I had to circle the lot to find a space, but figured a full lot means good food worth waiting for. After a spot mirculously opened up for me, I parked and went inside to be seated at the bar. The bar was clean, the bartender kind (and kind of resembled hugh jackman), and chips and salsa were soon to follow. The chips were warmish and mostly broken, but nothing I couldn't work with. The salsa was a bit salty but still flavorful. I tried the spicy Jalapeño margarita first, and it was spicy and delicious! Then I ordered the Cali corn dip, a regular cheese dip, and the creamy Chipotle shrimp. 2/3 of those arrived, but I was only charged for what I was served. The cheese dip was hot, creamy, cheesy, and not very spicy. The creamy Chipotle shrimp was also hot (typical hot plate warning given by the server), creamy and delicious! I also ordered a watermelon margarita, and I can not recommend it enough! Everything was served hot and delicious! All of the staff were kind and quick! I can't wait to go back and try some of that Cali corn dip! 10/10 WILL...
Read moreI recently had lunch here with a couple of co-workers, and it was excellent! This restaurant is about 30 minutes from my home and there are several other good Mexican restaurant options much closer to where I live, but I am looking forward to bringing my wife here very soon because it is well worth the drive. I had the asada (steak) street tacos, and it brought me back to my time living in San Diego and crossing into Tijuana for real Mexican street food. A good way to judge how good a Mexican restaurant actually is can be based on their salsa. The red salsa with chips was very fresh and delicious, but the green tomatillo salsa for my tacos was outstanding as well. The overall ambiance of the restaurant is very cool with a lot of exposed brick and wooden rafters, almost making you feel like you are eating in a courtyard somewhere in Mexico. The server was also very nice and on point throughout our lunch! I am not sure how long this place has been open, but Clanton AL is very lucky to have such a great local spot and I hope this entire community keeps this place in business for years to come. If not, we will gladly take this place in Alabaster if they ever want to relocate!! Great job,...
