We ate here on 4/14/19
2-1/2 stars is not an option, but should be. Service: 2-1/2 (they were nice, at least). Speed: 1 Food: 2-1/2... meh. Price: 4
I'd never been here and wanted to try it. Didn't know what to expect, as the reviews were mixed. Most complaints were about service and speed, so I thought - I can handle that if the food is good. So, off we went... Service IS slow... there was hardly anyone there (it was between lunch and dinner) and we had a wait for the food to come and then our server disappeared. Eventually another girl (who was tending bar) came to check on us. Waited for her to come back with a box... that wait was a tad ridiculous, and then another wait because she didn't bring the check and had to go get it. At this point, we were wandering around with our 1 year-old, trying to keep her happy. When she never came to get the check, we tossed money on the table with the check and just walked out. We were really patient with them and not rude, but it wasn't a great showing.
As for food... it was cheap-ish... this is what we got pictured below: sub, cheese calzone, mushroom/pineapple pizza, fries. Was about $40. It was, to put it simply... meh. It tasted okay, but we've definitely had much better even for a similar price. The roll was slightly stale... I see what the other reviews were talking about. The pizza and calzone were oily and had a weird aftertaste, like they'd had the oil awhile or used multiple types on one surface (I'm not a cook, I can't figure it out exactly), but the cheese and fries were good. The calzone dipping sauce was cold, so ask for it hot if you prefer it that way. In any case... if you need a cheap lunch and can't find another option, you can eat here and end up less hungry. We don't feel the need to go again, but at least now we can say...
Read moreI've been here a few times never really had a good experience. This last time took the cake. I ordered a Ruben my boyfriend an Italian combo we got wings as an app and fries and a salad to split. First off I had to poach condiments, napkins, and silverware from other tables. The wings came out with nothing on them. So heads up they are just plain wings. Next my sandwich came out, but surprise it wasn't a Ruben. Sent it back. The fries came. My sandwich came out again, again not a Ruben. The salad comes. Were hungry my boy friend has almost finished the fries. I keep asking about his sandwich too as there has been no attempt to bring his and his is a cold sandwich. Its been about 45 min. My sandwich comes out again and its correct this time however it's cold and the bread has turned into a paste because it was the sandwich I ordered about 45 minutes ago that was just sitting under a lamp and the sauerkraut has turned it into a soggy mess. Still no Italian. Finally I chase someone down and they go and find an Italian sub but there is no mayo, oil or vinegar on it as asked. They were going to comp our drinks but I think thought better of it and comped the meal when they saw how frustrated we were . The time before this fires were brought to the table as I was paying our bill and had to argue to have then removed from the check. Another recent time I ordered a gyro and the meat was still frozen inside. So I'd say steer clear, but its the only show in town on Sundays in the area, so cross...
Read moreBoth my mom & I greatly enjoyed our food (she had the tuna melt & I had a veggie sub). My mom was impressed with the fat slices of bread (like homemade) & all the tuna inside. I was delighted that my sub was absolutely perfect, exactly as I'd ordered. [I recently ordered the exact same item at a local competitor that was made entirely wrong & had to be sent back to the kitchen to be fixed.] Anyway, the food was awesome, the service was completely adequate, and I loved the decor (so much so that I want to duplicate their 1/2 and 1/4 giant barrel tables in my own home]! Much to my surprise, behind a half-wall, separating it from the main dining area, was a full bar with both tables and bar-side stools, along with televisions for sports. This was an entirely random "hey, this place is open [on a Sunday -- mothers day], there's parking right out front, and it doesn't appear busy...let's go there" decision that was very serendipitous. I'll...
