CELEBRATING THAT AFTER 11YEARS OF MARRIAGE, MY FAVORITE HUSBAND HASN'T TRADED ME IN!!! I still can't believe the manliest man, I've ever met, asked me to marry him!!! As a "Thank you" for not divorcing me, I thought I'ld take him to dinner. I had made reservations on Wednesday night and then last night my girlfriend, Kelly (she makes a lot of guest appearances in my reviews) sent me a text, inviting me to join her for dinner with other women to the Whisper House (see photos of Kelly cheating on our friendship). Of course I declined, because I already had plans with my main squeeze, Ray. The restaurant has a fun ambiance (see photos). very excited with the dim lighting, because I look like a goddess under dim lights! And I sure didn't need my husband to see how many wrinkles I've gotten since we've been married! We got there at 5:30 during happy hour so we got to enjoy the appetizers on the happy hour menu . we ordered chips, salsa, and guacamole.. The portions aren't that big but just right for a happy hour snack. For dinner I ordered the steak salad . The steak was as tender as my husband's love! It was delicious! It was portion just right for the price. I was very happy with my meal! Ray on the other hand... was not too happy with his mahi-mahi. Apparently it was very bland, but he did like the mashed potatoes, the broccoli and the side salad that came with the meal. He mentioned that the mahi-mahi may have been overcooked. I'm not a fan of fish so I didn't taste it so I can't confirm. For dessert I had the peach cobbler with vanilla bean ice cream. I'm not shaming myself for wasting my calories on that dessert. It was wonderful!!! Service started out great, and then the place got very busy! (Busier than the Devil temping me with desserts, while I'm on my weight loss journey!) It took awhile to get our check, no fault of our server, she was simply busy. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the Mahi Mahi and they seemed to be short staffed. SSDGM, Elaine UPDATE; I’m feeling lower than a bow legged caterpillar! Turns out my favorite husband noticed my wrinkles and wants a divorce! (I hope he steps on a Lego!) My new tip is; when eating at The Whisper House, make sure you eat with your Gal Pals! I wish I would’ve been having fun in the patio with my gals! They think I’m a hoot!!! It just occurred to me, maybe soon to be ex-hubbys dinner was delightful and his taste buds are being as bitter as his attitude!

WORST JAMBALAYA I have EVER had in my life! Jambalaya is my favorite dish. Whenever I see it in the menu, I get it. I have had great jambalaya and average jambalaya but his restaurant takes the GOLD medal for the WORST jambalaya I have ever had. The jambalaya was way over seasoned, and all the veggies and meat (except for the shrimp) were diced into tiny little squares. So when eating this with the rice, the texture was like I was eating weird mushy jambalaya soup or puree. I have never sent food back in my life. I have been to The Palms and ordered well done steak, and gotten almost burnt steak and still didnt send it back. I really wish I had sent this jambalaya back and gotten something else, it is how bad it was. It was so bad, I REGRET not asking the restaurant to take it back and get me something else (because to be honest, the rest of the food looked great, I just always get the jambalaya if they have it) I spent $30 on terrible jambalaya, ate a few bites, took most of it home, and I guess GOD himself didnt want me to eat this because by the next day, the jambalaya had already spoiled by lunch time so thankfully I did not have to eat it. (though it is weird that this dish spoiled after like 12 hrs in the fridge, at least the bacteria liked it I guess). This sucks, because everything else at restaurant was great. The appetizers were great, and I loved the drinks! (went on tiki night). Will probably come back, try more drinks, and get something OTHER than that awful jambalaya. P.s they have a happy hour but it seems pathetic so don't bother if you want to try their good cocktails.

Went on Valentine's day...A small little restaurant in a shopping center type gathering close by Ontario but in Claremont, California. The restaurant probably holds about 75 people in it. The staff was great and seemed vary friendly; especially on Valentine's day. to wait about 30 mins for a table which wasnt to bad because we sat at the bar and ordered drinks until our table was ready. A decent selection of beers available along with housemade cocktails. Dinner for 2 was a tad bit over $100, so for Los Angeles this is about average spending on a meal like in the picture provided. Nothing really fancy about the cooking methods or food. The steak was cooked to my liking, as well as the scallops. Just a good, hip atmosphere to enjoy a decent meal and drink. They have a restroom inside for Male and female. The area has plenty of garage parking and free from what I experienced, no need to get a ticket like they would in Los Angeles. I am from Houston and I give it $$$$ out of 5, but if I lived in California I would give it $$ out of 5 due to the cost of living from each state. After you're done eating you can go shop around the shopping center they have within the restaurant area.

Wife and finally had a date night. Decided to try this place out. We walked up to the outdoor seating entrance and we were greeted by one of the 4 young girls at the kiosk distracted by their phones and would rather chat than give us some direction. After about 30 seconds of fumbling around and deciding who was going to seat us they invited us in. That was just the beginning.

We decided to order the baked brie cheese starter and a round of drinks. My wife had a very well presented drink and seemed to enjoy it. I was greeted with a fantastic local craft beer. I was impressed this the tap list and the vibe of the restaurant. Then the starter came. We were presented with 4oz of brie loaded completely melted out of the rind and all over the plate, with an enormous pile of dried cranberries and slivered almonds. The sourdough toast was sliced sandwich bread and was very poorly toasted and was sitting on the plate drenched in the melted cheese. Honestly not impressed with the delivery of our $18 starter.

Both of us ordered a burger for our entrée, we requested medium with some pink. Sadly both of our patties were cremated beyond well done and had absolutely no seasoning. The fries they gave us were obviously old stale and discusting. Not a very pleasant meal at all.

In an attempt to salvage the evening and wash the meal down we ordered another round of drinks. My wife ordered a double silver tequila neat, when asked what kind we asked for Jose Cuervo or similar. She was served something else entirely. When I received my bill I was shocked that the tequila she was served was $18 per shot. That was $36 for her drink. Absurd! But my beer was on point!

Ultimately I was able to muscle through most of my burger. My wife only had a couple bites and declined to eat anything else. The service staff noticed and offered to get her something else. She declined and it was removed from the bill. Good service.

Restaurant vibe and wait staff was good. Just not impressed with the food at all and lack of communication of drink cost. We do not...

What a cool name, “Whisper House.” By all means, ponder its origins, consider the possibilities for a restaurant with a name like that in such a cool location. Go ahead and wonder if the place is as good as it’s name. It isn’t.

The food experience is like something out of those places you may have had to visit once cause of a work related event (TGI Fridays, Applebees, etc.). If that’s what you’re looking for, save a couple of bucks and go there. Save yourself the disappointment of thinking you’re about to enjoy good food: it’s bland. I mean everything, burger: bland, chicken: bland, drinks: bland, nachos: bland. You read that correctly, they screwed up nachos. Let that sink in… I’ve given this place two chances and will never give it a third.

During the day the place looks closed when open. You’ll often see people milling about outside trying to figure out what’s up—open or closed? I saw a server walk out and asked. He said, “it should be open,” as he walked past me. Yeah, the service isn’t bad, it sucks. The servers don’t know the menu, haven’t tasted the food (no one has: did I mention it’s bland?), they’ll ignore or forget you and check on you when you’re four fifths of the way through your meal. To be fair, the servers are pleasant enough, they are simply poorly trained.

And that’s just it. The restaurant is poorly managed. Anyone with minimal experience in food and beverage will recognize this in roughly three minutes. They just gave up. But why should they care? You’re still showing up to fork over money for nothing and they don’t have to do much for it.

Why do so many people go there? Is it the lights, the pretty lights at night? I...
