Do you know how many times I’ve found myself downtown, phone in hand, swimming through a sea of reviews trying to hunt down the next great spot to eat? I don’t usually care about how fancy the place looks, how packed it is, or what the bill might say—I’m all about the flavor. And after a few questionable bites in the past, I’ve learned one thing: good food doesn’t need a red carpet.
Let me clarify—I don’t just like food. I’m in a committed, borderline obsessive relationship with great food. I’m talking perfect seasoning, a delicate dance between sweet and salty, and—call me weird—a kiss of char on top. That’s my culinary love language. And when I recommend a place, my friends usually end up texting me, “Okay, wow.”
Which brings me to Calle Tacos. This spot? It’s the cheat day headquarters, the “I just want something delicious and I don’t care what anyone thinks” sanctuary. Forget overpriced menus and gourmet drama—when you’re craving real-deal, flavor-packed, budget-friendly Mexican food, Calle Tacos is your go-to.
I actually stumbled upon it yesterday while looking for a pre-gym snack. Spoiler alert: the tacos were so good, I forgot my gym pass was on the back of my phone. So, I did the only logical thing—turned around and went home in disbelief, full and deeply satisfied.
Let’s just say… my friends and I have a new favorite....

The drinks were top notch to include mixing the fresh agua frescas such as pineapple, hibiscus, and horchata with your favorite alcohol. The birria ramen and street corn in a cup or “Esquites” was a great app that left me ready for my tacos. The tacos are all very fresh and have high quality ingredients, each reprensenting the style of taco as prepared in the different regions of Mexico. The fish tacos made with red snapper is a delicious example. Lastly, save room for dessert because the Tres Leches does not disappont and was absolutely incredible! The creator of the establishment was behind the bar and was very accommodating, answeringng questions and making the experience that much better. On a busy Friday night everything flowed and the experience and food was 10/10. If you haven’t been yet, don’t miss out on this instant favorite and much needed downtown Clarksville gem! Right across Blackhorse check it out!

Read moreFood was definitely not as great as some have said on here. Started with chips and salsa which were just fine. Salsa is not spicy, but does look freshly made. Tacos were kind of expensive.. getting authentic street tacos from the taco trucks is more like it. This is like an over priced, less flavor version of taco trucks. Quesabirria was VERRYY bland and not very cheesy at all! It tasted like roast that I cook at home in a crock pot without seasoning and slapped on a tortilla. Carnitas was also just blah. Asada tacos were probably the best out of all our options. The meat was flavorful and tasted nice and smoked. We did have to smother everything in salsa from the salsa bar! After adding sauce, onions, cilantro, and lime from the bar the tacos were good. Definitely not worth the $5+ per taco! Also the salsa bar needs labels… I had no idea what any of the salsas were! Ketzle was a great waitress though! Everyone was nice! Just not worth the price in my opinion.. $50 on 6 tacos and chips and salsa.. still...
