I don't typically write reviews, but I'm so aggravated with this one, I have to. I don't have transportation right now, which is the only reason I used GrubHub. I was craving bbq and so excited to receive Dickey's. I ordered from the location at 2345 Madison St. Clarksville, TN. I ordered the 3 meat plate with mac n chz, beans, and an extra side of green beans. A Hawaiian bun, to make a sandwich, pickle and a drink and requested the napkin and to go silverware and the original bbq. The driver was great, on time and polite. The first thing I notice about the order is that my drink was barely halfway full. I wasn't even that upset over the drink, bc I was so excited to eat, but things just got more aggravating as I opened the order. There was absolutely no bbq sauce! Who wants to eat bbq without the bbq sauce?? I don't have any in the house or I could've used that, and have no way of getting any until tomorrow. But I didn't order food tonight so I could reheat it tomorrow when I have bbq sauce from a store. No pickle. No napkins or silverware. Good thing I got sides, bc I can't eat the meat like it is and really enjoy it like I had hoped to, and the sides aren't really that great. Maybe I just lost my appetite out of frustration. The girl on the phone was sweet, but she only offered to refund about $4.00 of a nearly $30.00 order, that I assume most of the cost was for the meat, that I couldn't eat and enjoy bc it was dry. At the very least, I would expect a bbq restaurant to make sure they put bbq sauce with their takeout orders, and seeing how they didn't, even after I requested it, I would then expect them to refund much more, if not all of my total. Seems to me, they don't care about making their customers happy or correcting their mistakes. I know I certainly won't be returning after this experience and will not recommend Dickey's BBQ to anyone. EDIT: I finally did end up receiving a full refund after about a month. For whatever reason they told me they couldn't find my order in their system to refund me to my card. So, I ended up having to get a ride to the store so they could give me a cash refund. Because they Finally gave me a full refund I did up my rating from 1 to 3 stars, but I had to stay on them to get a refund and had to go out of my way to get it. So, still not much of an improvement, and I still wouldn't necessarily recommend eating...
Read moreI was shocked! My family loves Dickeys and has actually been to this location many times in the past. It has been about a year now since I have been back and yesterday, the day I returned, the experience was terrible. First, the customer service of the main worker - the guy cutting the meats - gave me quite the attitude when I purchased multiple side items that needed frying. He said, "The other people in your group already ordered a lot of fried food and we only have so many fryers, so yeah, you're gonna have to wait for it." It was said with a very annoyed tone. To which I replied, That's fine, I don't mind waiting. The next employee asked me a question about the other sides I wanted, and the main guy cut him off abruptly saying, "Don't get ahead of me!" It was just a very tense experience. I didn't mind waiting for the food I ordered cause understandably, they can only fry so much food at once. But, the whole restaurant filled with the smoky haze of fryer smoke, because the oil obviously needed to be changed, but he wasn't going to do that, I'm guessing, because it was the end of the day. So, as a result, all of the fried food ordered tasted burnt and was not good at all and we sat in a smoky room to eat it. The last thing, which remember it was the end of the day - not an excuse - the other meats everyone in my party, not just my family, received were ice cold. Imagine smoked cheddar sausage where the cheese is hardened inside because of the temperature. Also all the rolls were rock hard, and cold. Did we complain then? We did not. Why? Because of the rude customer service we already experienced. No one wanted to annoy the man any further. All in all, it was terrible. I will return, just because I do have many good experiences. But one more experience like that and I don't think I...
Read moreThe best I can say is that our visit was OK. Good, but not great. I had a brisket sandwich with a side of cabbage slaw. The slaw was very fresh and crisp and was very enjoyable. The brisket meat was unlike any I had either seen in a restaurant or made myself. The portion was generous with little fat. It was a little dry and the meat was a little crumbly. The meat had an overall reddish tint to it. I'm used to seeing brisket as a greyish pink color with a little shine to it from fat. This brisket was dull with no shine. I can't prove it, but I think this was leftover from last night. My wife had a beef burnt end sandwich. She commented that it was good, but it wasn't exactly burnt ends. It was just chopped brisket with little of it burnt. She liked her Caesar side salad, but for the price she felt the portion was a bit chintzy. The fountain sodas were good and there were plenty of condiments available. When we left, two older couples (like us) ordered and the cashier offered them a senior discount. This was not offered to us, but maybe we looked a lot younger? Cashier was apparently new. She didn't ring up my wife's side salad and she rang up two identical brisket sandwiches instead. Regardless we spent about $27. The cashier's manicured nails were way too long to wear in a food service environment, we thought. The manager came out to the dining area with his laptop but sat in the back. He didn't greet anyone or ask how our food was. The store was very clean. Brown paper towel rolls and hand sanitizer were on each table. Last bite: Their rewards app wouldn't accept our receipt to give us rewards points. This Dickey's isn't as good as Mission BBQ by comparison. We'll try this...
