On July 27, 2025, I stopped by Granny’s Soul Food restaurant to get something to eat after church. I should have checked the contents of the container before I left the restaurant. When I got home, I opened the styrofoam containers which contained yams, turnip greens, potato salad, chicken and dressing and a cornbread muffin. The turnip greens were good but that’s all that was good.
The yams tasted like they just came out of the can. The chicken and dressing tasted like the entire bottle of sage was dumped into the food. The potato salad was sweet and the cornbread muffin wasn’t cooked all the way. I paid too much money for me to not enjoy my entire meal. I should’ve spent my money at Popeye’s. I would’ve been satisfied and not still hungry.
I called Granny’s Soul Food restaurant to speak with the owner about my dissatisfaction with the food. I requested a refund and was told if I give you a refund then I’ll have to give everyone else a refund and I’ll be out business. I informed him that I would dispute the transaction. The owner said to dispute it and don’t come back to my store. He then hung up the phone.
He doesn’t have to worry about me EVER coming back to your establishment. I will make sure that everyone I know in Clarksville avoid Granny’s Soul Food restaurant. They can take their hard earned money elsewhere and get better food and customer service. I thought I was supporting a black owned business. I give you no stars for your attitude and your terrible food.
Please look at the picture of the barely chicken and dressing as well as the yams. It’s a good thing you can’t scratch and sniff or taste the sage from the picture. You would...
Read moreI went to the Wilma Rudolph location on its opening day. I was happy to support the small business, in spite of the negative press I had heard about the original location. It is good that the location is being occupied by another small business. The interior is nice, small, bright, and clean. The young man at the register needs to acquire a more friendly demeanor. If that is not possible, he needs to find someone who can maintain that. He is rather gruff for the first encounter in the restaurant! Next the food was mediocre at best. I ordered the country steak, which looked like something that was processed and two small patties. When I ate into the green beans, the first or second bite had a big stem in it. This is usually the sign of cost-cutting products. I understand buying from the most economical supplier. However, your prices should reflect such savings. Fried okra is one of my favorite dishes. However, these were seasoned with a taste that gave them a sweet taste. I could have done without the sweet taste. I paid $26 for this meal including taxes and tip. I was disappointed. I do hope Granny's will align their small servings and prices. You charge too much for the small servings you provide. I wished Sweet P's had opened a second location in this space. They serve delicious, real soul food along with professional, caring service. I wish Granny's the best and hope to return when I learn they have improved their business model....
Read moreLook I didn’t even take any pictures of my food because I got home and we ate it so fast. Not even 30 minutes for everything we had. So tonight I bought 2 fish sandwiches, cheeseburger, pork chop, turkey chop, fries, potato salad, mac & cheese, and yams. I loved how the owner was so involved in my ordering process making it easy for a first timer at his restaurant. I love how intimate the restaurant is. What caught my eye is the blown up picture of his grandmother on the back wall. I know for a FACT that she’s super duper proud of him and his accomplishments. When I TELL YALL IT WAS GOODT, that would be an understatement!! Good googaly moogaly that turkey chop was juicy and so was that delicious hand crafted, well seasoned, beyond blessed burger patty, AND that pork chop!! These are recipes from the angels up above that graced the land of the living. I will be going back again next week during my takeout meal day. I left without my pork chop but I called and it wasn’t a hassle getting another 1. They made me a FRESHLY FRIED pork chop in replace of my forgotten 1. They are some of the most friendly, professional, welcoming group of people I’ve met since being here at Fort Campbell. It felt like home. I highly and abundantly recommend Granny’s Soul Food. Next time I swear I’m going to take pictures of my food. Oh yeah, and the strawberry mango margarita...
