Tucked in a quiet shopping center on tiny town road, where half of the store fronts are empty or out of business is Jersey Bagels. A NYC style breakfast spot that serves bagels, muffins, breakfast sandwiches, and things of that nature. To be honest, I don't know if the owners are from New Jersey, but these are New York/ New Jersey style bagels and breakfast sandwiches. They have boars head products which Is a plus, and there service is quick, and efficient. Another plus !
When I went in, there were about half a dozen customers waiting for there food, it was quite, clean, with some generic elevator style Spanish music playing in the background, and a very sparse but quaint aesthetic. The small staff of three were all Spanish, quietly working hard at each of there stations while communicating effectively with each other, and letting patrons know when there items were ready over the counter. They were even walking food items to each and every customer, which I thought was very nice.
It took about 7 minutes to get my sandwich, a sausage, egg, and cheese, w/ cream cheese on an everything bagel, salt pepper, NO Ketchup 😄 (Hey I like what I like 🤷🏾♂️😂)
Living in New York for the better part of my life (over 30 years) I'm used to paying 3.50-6 $ for a breakfast sandwich. I really just depends on what part of New York you're in, and what you put on your sandwich. But a regular bacon egg and cheese on a bagel usually costs about five bucks. This thing cost me $11 !!!!! Well $10.53 to be exact. The base bacon or sausage egg and cheese sandwich here is $8.60 w/o tax ! So I essentially paid another $2 for a smear of cream cheese.
Don't get me wrong, it's a good sandwich!! Plus you have to take into consideration inflation, the cost of food, and the rising wages in the area for food service workers has been on the rise for quite some time but come on ! ( i'm a chef by trade for over 25 years so I get it.)
For $2 more though, I could go get a grand slam breakfast from Denny's, or for just about the same price as the sandwich I could get the all star special from waffle House.
As I sit here writing this review there has been a a steady stream of customers coming and going from the restaurant, which is a tell tail sign that this place is a local favorite. In no way shape form or fashion am I trying to talk bad about jersey bagels, quite the opposite actually! There great ! It just seems very VERY expensive to me for a breakfast sandwich, but that's just my experience.
If your in the mood for a great breakfast sandwich, and don't mind paying, then look no further then "Jersey Bagels" of Clarksville TN is the spot for you.

Read moreI had been eagerly waiting for Jersey Bagels to open and was excited to give it a try. Unfortunately, my experience was a mixed bag. First, passing on a 4% credit card fee to the customer is not a good idea. It leaves a bad impression right off the bat. The time it took to get my order was excessive. I only ordered a couple of coffees and bagels, and despite the place not being very busy and having plenty of staff, it took about 30 minutes. It seemed like there was some confusion, as orders were delivered before ours. The person I assume to be the owner did apologize, which I appreciated.
Additionally, the place was a bit dirty with tables not being cleaned between customers. The coffee was okay, but the bagel and cream cheese were extremely good, which gives me hope.
My guess is they are still working out the kinks, and I hope they do (nothing a lil training cant fix). The bagels are great and the place has great potential, which to reach they need to improve on service and cleanliness to make it a...
Read moreI went to Jersey Bagels. I ordered 3 bagels and one iced coffee, and another order was separate because I went with someone else. She preferred 2 croissants and one bagel. We told them 3 times this was for to go, and we received the complete opposite of to go and got the food served that we wanted to take home. Coffee was fine, but the wait for the food needs to be fixed. It should not take that long to toast a bagel, let alone having to repeat your order multiple times for dine-in and what’s for take-out.
It’s not that big of a problem because everything will still be taken with us either way, but it’s just the fact of receiving information for the company and knowing what should be done first is my only consistent complaint. Once I got it, the food was warm. Nothing was cold, but the only thing I suggest is improving the pace to better meet what the customer needs from them. That misfire was completely fine, but it didn’t match the tempo of the service and what was...
