O'Charley's is a staple of our family. We love it. Though I personally argue that Texas Roadhouse has the better steak, everyone else in my family loves O'Charley's, and so we frequent here quite often. Most of the time, the visits are great! Today, however, I observed something I was not a big fan of, but didn't see O'Charley's confronting in the near future. I hope I'm wrong about that.
My family would meet at 6:30PM on a Thursday night at O'Charley's. Expecting a wait, I arrived early after a quick smoke at Up in Smoke Cigars (brilliant place). I placed my name on the waiting list at 6:08PM, and was told it would be a 20~30 minute wait. As expected.
My family arrived at 6:30PM. We waiting until 6:51PM before being seated. Throughout my wait, the hosting staff was very polite, professional, and charming. They seemed knowledgeable about their job, and seemed to take it seriously from what I observed. I didn't see any of them goofing off during the rush, very nice to see.
We're finally seated. Our waitress was Mercedes, a charming young lady who quickly proved herself to be knowledgeable, observant, patient, and attentive. She has rolls for us before we realize we don't have rolls. We never go without a drink. Even the child at the table doesn't scream because she's missing something. This is a feat. Mercedes did well and should definitely be recognized and paid for the level of service she brings to O'Charley's.
Our food was good. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and our time together. My steak was mid-rare, cooked exactly as I wanted, and it was a nice, thick cut of meat, easily worthy of the manliest of men. Amid my table, nobody complained, and very few to-go boxes were asked for. The food was great!
The wait time, though. Let's talk about that. Because that needs to be addressed. Something people may not be aware of is the fact that when O'Charley's receives an order from Doordash, the order is sent to the kitchen, and this order is sent into the same queue as the dining room. What that means is, though I have undertaken the task of gathering my family together, traveling to O'Charley's establishment and waited for seating, someone in their house on their phone has a higher priority than me in the kitchen. From the time I was seated to the time I received my food, forty-five minutes had passed.
Friends, this should not be. O'Charley's stands to make good money from Doordash due to an increase in sales potential, but I without a doubt feel like this is a very glaring problem that should be addressed by management soon. Business was backing up at the door not because the dining room had no seats available, but because the kitchen couldn't handle the stress of fulfilling both in-house orders and Doordash orders.
The solution? Make in-house customers wait.
Your customers that travel to your business should always have priority.
Somehow a system needs to be implemented that separates Doordash orders from Dining Room orders, so that your customers in your dining room are not neglected.
If you're a consumer reading this review, and you think you want to try O'Charley's, please keep in mind that while your food will be good and the staff are professional, you will wait longer than necessary both before and after you are seated due to people at home ordering food on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreRarely leave reviews but my experience at this location was so bizarre today I have to leave a review. First I have to say my wife and kids meals were great. They got chicken tenders, shrimp, and French fries. The waitress was really good as well. I ordered the 10oz ribeye steak for $18.99. What I got was... well I actually still donāt know. My best guess is some sort of boiled or microwaved cheap beef with a grayish wrapping of spices. Not sure how it tasted because I couldnāt stand the sight let alone the odd texture. Our waitress asked if it was ok since I hadnāt eaten any of it and I was willing to just do the āNa itās ok just not that hungryā game but she could see the āsteakā too and said she would take it back. In 8-10 minutes another steak is brought out by the manager, Alexa I believe was her name. She was very nice but incredibly socially awkward. The āsteakā she brought out was the exact same type of whatever that was brought out the first time except this time with half hearted grill marks. She stood right next to my right shoulder and waited for me to take a bite of the steak to ensure that everything was alright. I made some small talk with her trying to prolong the inevitable and asked her what exactly this thing was that sheās calling rib-eye. I was told that itās stampede boneless 10oz ribeye steak. I was curious how they boiled steak on a grill and she ensured me that the āsteakā was grilled. I finally got the courage up and cut a piece and took a bite of what Iām pretty certain now could have only been human meat or something equally vile. I told her right off that I was about to spit it out, I had to tell her this because as stated before she was right next to my face. She said ok and I spit as much of my mouth and throat out as I could without dying and to be honest dying at that point may have been a blessing. To be fair she was extremely professional minus to social awkwardness and said she would remove it from our bill which was nice because we hadnāt even asked for that. My family has zero complaints about their food and my side salad was good and I didnāt want to bother honestly. Waitress got a nice tip and minus the ribeye Iād recommend the place but that āsteakā was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI deliver food often for this O'Charleys restaurant in particular. Most of the time the employees are happy to help and Shay is an absolutely awesome manager that provides great business for this establishment. The food here is excellent as well, they will cook the steaks however you'd like them to be in a healthy standard (obviously, you can't eat a steak completely uncooked, that'll destroy your health). The potatoes are completely real and amazing, and while Olive Garden has them beat on bread with their bread sticks, they do have absolutely fabulous rolls even though they take a few minutes to make, as bread does take some time in the oven. They most likely forgot I had eaten here and tipped generously ever since Covid came around because I wear a mask that tells most people to back off of me and not to irritate me about it, that's the entire point, as I trust myself and know when I feel healthy or when I'm feeling slightly unwell. The government figured out they could label any common sickness such as the flu or even a common cold as "Covid-19" because they realized fear-mongered civilians would throw their money at vaccines to continuously acquire allergic reactions and keep coming back. That's essentially heroin, I'm good, I don't need all that garbage, literally that is causing more problems than it is curing, if I do not feel ill I'm comfortable being around people who also do not feel ill, if they seem like they have the flu or some kind of sickness I'ma dip away from them. Know duh. You realize Moderna states that "Covid-19 appears to be around forever, only at differing levels", so yeah, they sold on a new drug. I pray you didn't buy into it. Have a...
